Merton College are now seeking a Lecturer in L2 Hairdressing to lead the course team and be responsible for the delivery and development of the curriculum, with particular responsibility for a mixed age range group of students. Acting as a Course Leader and Personal Tutor, you’ll assess students work as required by examining/awarding bodies and undertake an IV role for a cluster of courses. There is also a requirement to teach some L1 Business.

We’re looking for someone who holds a degree or relevant professional qualifications in Hairdressing and who has excellent current teaching skills. We’d like you to have a strong background in a commercial environment and have experience of delivering NVQ and VRQ Hairdressing qualifications in an FE institution. An A1 Assessor or V1 Internal Verifier Award is advantageous.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.

x1 Lecturer – Business with an Accounting / Finance Specialism

The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Professional (STEP) deliver a key part of the College’s provision with programmes ranging from Level 1 to Level 6 HE, including an extensive apprenticeship provision.

The School is divided into a number of sections, with these roles based in the Further Education Business Section. This section delivers a range of vocational Business BTEC Level 1 to Level 3 programmes together with T levels in Accounting and Finance.

We are now seeking two Lecturers, one to teach on a variety of Business courses and levels across the curriculum area, including but not limited to: BTEC Business Studies Level 1, 2 & 3 and a Lecturer with an Accounting / Finance Specialism to teach primarily on the T-Level Finance and Accounting (Level 3) along with the BTEC Business Studies Level 1, 2 & 3.

As Lecturer in Business (Accounting Specialism), you will take responsibility for the group tutorship of one or more of courses within the School and contribute to the development of existing and new provision, as well as the implementation of flexible and cost effective teaching and learning styles.

We’re looking for someone who has excellent teaching skills and relevant teaching experience on BTEC programmes in Business, across a range of levels. You will hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.

With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you will have high personal standards and expectations and be aware of academic quality standards. A teaching qualification is not essential however we do ask that you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.

Please note that this post is funded for the 2024/25 academic year so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2024.

Due to the growth and expansion of the Lovell South West region, we have an opportunity for a Project Cleaner to join our prestigious site in Weymouth.

You will be responsible for cleaning the site welfare facilities and office space at Bincombe Park, Weymouth, to include male and female toilets, canteens, induction room, stores, and site office. You will also clean open plan offices with kitchenette, meeting rooms and most importantly, our show home, ensuring the clean is to the highest of standards. The role will also require build and sparkle cleans of all the new plots being built through the construction phase.

Candidates will have proven experience within a similar role, with the ability to follow instructions, working as part of a team as well as independently and under your own initiative. Punctual, confident and organised, you will have excellent attention to detail and will ideally hold a CSCS card.
