Job Overview:
The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in driving middle-to-back-office IT capabilities for private market processes within investment/banking applications. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to lead discovery sessions, analyse requirements, design IT solutions, and ensure successful delivery of complex IT projects, including system integrations and data migrations. With a deep understanding of investment operations, you will ensure alignment between business needs and IT strategies while leading Agile practices and managing stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Solution Development:
· Lead discovery sessions and workshops with stakeholders to understand business requirements, challenges, and opportunities.
· Document Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications (FSD), use cases (Gherkin format), visual models, and business processes.
· Analyse and conceptualize IT solutions that meet business needs, validate solutions with engineering and architecture teams.
· Translate requirements into actionable user stories and work closely with the development team to ensure alignment with project objectives.
· Conduct detailed data analysis to identify patterns, build models, and support business processes.
· Oversee and support middle-to-back-office processes like deal execution, transaction booking (capital calls, cash distributions, invoices), and valuations.
Project Execution & Delivery:
· Lead Agile practices and coordinate scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
· Monitor project progress, ensure timely delivery, and proactively address any risks or deviations.
· Support testing phases by defining test strategies, executing test cases, and providing clarifications to the testing team.
· Present IT solutions to business and IT stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of how they meet business objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
· Work closely with business SMEs, technical teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure project goals align with business priorities.
· Engage with Front, Middle, and Back Office teams, as well as external technology teams and industry partners.
· Re-engage business SMEs to revise requirements or provide alternative solutions when needed.
· Ensure clear and consistent communication on project progress, risks, and issues with senior management and stakeholders.
Training & Documentation:
· Prepare training plans and user manuals, conduct user training sessions, and ensure system adoption.
· Create and maintain high-quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background:
· Possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
· 8-10 years of experience in technology business analysis or software development, specifically in investment/banking applications.
· Proven track record in overseeing complex IT projects, including system integrations and data migrations.
· Demonstrated ability to manage teams and senior business stakeholders.
· Strong expertise in documenting BRD, FSD, use cases (Gherkin format), visual modelling, and business processes.
Technical Skills:
· High proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, APIs, and data analysis.
· Experience with Product Management and Agile Methodology, with a focus on delivery.
· Knowledge of financial applications, workflows, UI/UX, database design, and software engineering best practices.
Business Domain Knowledge:
· Strong understanding of the investment/banking business domain, particularly in middle-to-back-office operations.
· Familiarity with investment products, financial workflows, and private market processes is essential.
