The role:
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the project and must be competent in managing key aspects of a project i.e., safety, scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources to achieve a project's agreed objectives. This scope of time, budget and requirement will often be set by our customer via a contract to deliver a specific capability or service.
Day-to-day, you'll manage projects in complex situations, with independence and lead others. You will also:
- Build integrated project delivery teams (including Project Management and Controls, Engineering, SHEQ, Commercial, Procurement and Supply Chain) that work together to define, plan, monitor and control the successful delivery of the project
- Manage Customer interfaces and associated stakeholders including identification and monitoring of project risks, planning and implementing responses
- Lead the project to deliver world class performance by means of employee engagement, continuous improvement and identifying and implementing the latest technology
- Establish and maintain governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities
- Take accountability for planning and monitoring the project; and submission of regular monthly performance reports; indicating any deviations, corrective action taken and escalation of issues.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:
- Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
- Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
- Managed projects of varying types and significant complexity: including varying products, services, across all phases of the lifecycle
- Experience in contracting methodologies (e.g. NEC).
- Cross functional awareness of lifecycle requirements for supporting functions
Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:
- Ideally a bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field
- A postgraduate qualification is also desirable, as is membership in a professional body
- Mandatory (or agreement to attain in 12 months):
- APM Chartered Professional (ChPP)
- APM Project Management Qualification
- APM Project Planning and Controls - Foundation (Desirable)
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
