Applicants must have experience of the following:
- HNC/HND in relevant discipline
- APM, Prince 2 or other formally recognised project management qualification
- Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience
- Full project lifecycle experience as a project manager
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a project manager
- Able to gain SC clearance
Ideally applicants should also have:
- Engineering degree
- Chartership status or working towards

Role information:

- Manage all aspects of projects throughout the full project lifecycle
- Prepare execution plans for project activities in line with requirements
- Develop organisational structures for multi-disciplined teams
- Allocate necessary resources required for works to be undertaken
- Prepare, update and maintain project schedules

• Join the Operations Centre of Excellence in a high profile and influential role that will deliver the five year strategic vision for Operations and transform the operational capability across the bank

What you'll do

In your new role, you’ll lead a work initiative, preparing, managing and providing reporting on all project plans, controls and resource plans. You’ll make sure that activities are in place to adequately prepare the business and engage all the appropriate stakeholders effectively to enable change to be implemented and handed over.

Additionally, you’ll be building and maintaining a positive working relationship with senior stakeholders across multiple franchises, domains and functions and at different levels of hierarchy and as part of this you’ll be required to produce executive level presentations. As well as this, you may lead a team of external suppliers, working closely with supply chain services for the appropriate supplier selection from our framework.

You’ll also be:

• Empowering and leading a team, often in multiple geographies, through the project lifecycle
• Identifying, tracking, managing and mitigating any project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
• Leading and defining project documentation and making sure that the solution clearly supports and is aligned to our strategic goals
• Tracking and reporting project costs and making sure that the project is completed in allotted budgets
• Making sure that all project deliverables satisfy the requirements and that they adhere to the agreed governance framework
• Shaping business cases or benefits realisation and securing funding via investment processes
• Addressing policy and control shortfalls and audit findings and implementing strategic solutions in response

The skills you'll need

You’ll need to hold an appropriate project management qualification, as well as have experience in change management. You’ll need experience of delivering change within a banking Operations team driving measurable business outcomes. You should be comfortable working with ambiguity and have the ability to pay keen attention to detail and a drive to understand emerging technical capabilities and how these might be leveraged by Operations.

It'll be ideal if you have experience of Agile processes and ceremonies as will be a familiarity with Model Risk governance.

You’ll also need:

• Experience of driving large scale automation or AI with a drive to understand emerging technical capabilities and how these might be leveraged by Operations
• Experience of analysing a broad range of data such as Operational, Technology, Finance and HR to support problem solving and decision making
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to produce executive level presentations
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to engage and communicate with multiple stakeholders at senior level across the bank
• Critical thinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity, and make sound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balanced against risk

The Opportunity
As our Project Manager, you’ll lead and manage the full lifecycle of key Projects working in partnership with our key internal and external stakeholders. The scope of the Projects you’ll lead in this role support the delivery of new plant modifications to realise business level benefits and meet the requirements of the Hartlepool’s Generation and Defueling targets.

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069

As part of your role in successful leading and managing key projects and stakeholder relationships you’ll:

- Ensure all actions taken are fully compliant with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Establish the baseline Scope, Quality, Schedule and Cost for your projects in line with MTP and ALR2 budgets as well as reporting accurately to reflect the Project position.
- Work closely with Architect Engineers as key members of your Project Team to deliver fit for purpose solutions in a safe manner to meet or surpass the Project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
- Secure the required resource to meet project requirements, ensuring all involved are SQEP.
- Develop and conduct effective execution strategies to help in achieving the overall project objectives.
- Ensure effective project change control is implemented when significant changes to scope, schedule or cost are identified.
- Maximise learning opportunities making full use of OpEx.
- Keep your stakeholders both internal and external informed and updated with performance, issues and risks throughout.
- Ensure effective risk and issue mitigation.
- Leading and coaching your project team to maximise efficient and effective delivery.

Who you are
You’ll hold a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering or relevant discipline. It would be advantageous if you also hold a relevant certification, for example APMQ
