Job Overview
-An exciting opportunity to work in the Central Government and Defence business unit of Mitie as a Project Manager in Scotland South (East and Central) area of the Scotland and Northern Ireland defence contract. The Project Manager is responsible for the development & delivery of projects in the most cost-effective manner, demonstrating ‘value for money' across Mitie's portfolio of clients. The person will identify & procure the services of specialist designers and contractors as required. The Project Manager is responsible for compliance with Mitie & client agreed methodology, governance, and gateway approvals. They will also take ownership of Health and Safety on their Projects ensuring they are effectively managed through consultation and liaison with relevant Stakeholders, acting as the Principal Designer as required. They will monitor & manage all change during a Projects life cycle, in accordance with the contract requirements.

The position will be based in Rosyth, Scotland East and Central area and may be tasked with delivering projects across the S&NI region if the demand dictates. The successful candidate will need to undertake national security vetting to BPSS level as a minimum prior to commencing and demonstrate the ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC level) as a pre-requisite for the role.



Main Duties

What we are looking for
-Qualifications:



-Preferably degree qualified in a surveying or construction related discipline.

Experience:



-They will have a proven track record of project development and delivery and demonstrable experience of pre-construction and construction phases delivery of multiple projects.



They must be:

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Weekly Planning Commitment Meeting

Chair weekly Planning Commitment Meeting to review past week’s performance and forthcoming week’s plan. Work in tandem with the Procurement Manager to ensure material coverage. Agree on and schedule engineering preventive maintenance times.

Leadership on Performance Management

Lead, manage and develop the Planning Team and Customer Services Co-ordinator to create an open and honest culture. Support the development of the team through individual performance reviews and personal development plans.

Technical Knowledge

Have a thorough understanding of technical specifications to ensure we are driving food safety through the plans.

Planning Tools and Training

Responsible for ensuring that planning tools are kept, updated and training materials are in place to cover all processes and procedures.
