The difference you will make as a Director of Asset Strategy & Delivery:
The role holder will Lead and develop an organisation wide asset management service and a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy to drive an improved customer service for repairs across all business streams of the Group.
About you
You will have experience in:
- Substantial experience in an asset management senior leadership position within a large, dispersed organisation.
- Proven ability to provide inspirational leadership.

Role Profile
Accountabilities or “What You Have to Do”
- In line with Group Strategy, ensure that Riverside continues to develop and maintain a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy to drive an improved Customer Service experience for repairs across all business streams of the Group based upon a comprehensive understanding of the condition and performance of current assets in relation to a clear set of Riverside standards.
- Balance the specific and varied needs of internal clients, Neighbourhood, Care and support and RHO Services, and be flexible to include other internal clients and types of assets as Riverside continues to diversify.
- Ensure that Riverside has, and utilises, comprehensive and robust information systems to hold all asset data, to manage projects and programmes and to monitor performance, cost and cashflow.
- Own the budget for Repairs and Planned Maintenance and liaise with Regional teams for allocation and local accountability.
- To ensure the operation a comprehensive planned maintenance service that delivers fit for purpose assets in an affordable manner and ensures value for money. Working with the Executive Director Asset Services and the Managing Director Evolve to ensure a comprehensive medium to long term forward plan of work, which will maximise efficient use of Evolve’s delivery and to support them in delivering to the agreed business plan.
- To continually monitor the delivery of all work and services to the Group's customers and test and challenge the outcomes to ensure that excellent customer services, value for money and social value are being achieved, working effectively with procurement colleagues to deliver best value.
- Ensure that Riverside fully complies with all of its statutory responsibilities and with industry best practice and has a robust database for all assets
- Working with the Executive Director Asset Services and Executive Directors of associated services, and the Director of Strategy and Public Affairs to forward plan medium and long term investment requirements in order to deliver excellent customer services, value for money and social value.
- Working with the Executive Director Asset Services and Executive Directors of associated services, to agree and deliver a programme of stock rationalisation (disposals, regeneration, remodelling) using appropriate assessment tools.
- To lead any analysis of stock acquisition programmes and to project manage transfers of incoming assets.
- To play an active role in the Group’s Leadership and Management Team.
- To be an advocate and exemplar of the TRG corporate values and a role model for the aspired corporate culture
- To demonstrate a pragmatic and ‘can-do’ attitude to find solutions
- To take ownership and responsibility for effective relationships with Executive Directors and Senior Leaders, Managers and Teams
- To lead in such a way as to have a positive impact upon the culture of TRG
- To hold budgetary responsibility and accountability for the Asset Service Delivery
- To actively coach and manage performance of individuals, teams and departments to achieve the stated objectives of TRG and positively impact upon the customer of TRG
- To endeavour to be gracious and empathetic, as the organisation is being restructured, with a wide range of individuals as they are challenged by the scale and pace of the transformation
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Substantial experience in an asset management senior leadership position within a large, dispersed organisation.
- Proven ability to provide inspirational leadership.
- Experience of managing significant budgets.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and government regulations.
- Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Proven success of leading and driving transformation within a complex organisation.
- High commercial acumen with the ability to work strategically and at pace.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with a strong customer focus.
- Results driven with the ability to manage conflicting stakeholder priorities.
- Proactive approach with the capability to work flexibly and adapt to particular situations.
