An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Transport Planner within the Highway Development Management Team at Leicestershire County Council.

About the Role

To provide highway development management advice to ensure effective transport assessment and input throughout the development process, including managing a case load of predominantly minor sites and supporting the Senior Transport Planner on more complex sites.

To assist with the provision of effective transport input on pre-application enquiries, outline planning applications, reserved matters applications and planning appeals as necessary.

Engaging in effective negotiation to secure highways and transportation mitigation for development proposals including through Section 106 discussions and identifying other funding sources as appropriate.

To support effective partnerships and working relationships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

• HNC/HND/NVQ4 in relevant subject (e.g. Civil Engineering or Transportation), or

experience of working in Highway Development Management or land use planning.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience of interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports.
• Effective negotiation with internal and external organisations, such as developers or Local Planning Authorities.
• Experience of conducting packages of transport analysis or assessment work.

At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Planner in our busy Coalville Depot. This position involves complete planning and scheduling for the Coalville operation and ensuring that the customer's requirements are met.

The position of Transport Planner involves:

• Planning and organising the activities of the Transport Operation, including the transition between the customers' peak and off-peak activity periods.
• Meeting on a regular basis with Transport Managers to ensure that we are operating efficiently.

Training: The first 4 weeks will consist of full time in the office training, once you have completed your training you will move to hybrid working, this will consist of at least one day a week in the office with your team and for any other meetings or events as required. Location: Our fantastic Leicester office which is in the city centre and only a short walk from Leicester train station. Salary: A fulltime role of 37.5 hours per week pays £31,000. GiPro is delighted to be working with an industry leading interior fit out contractor and bespoke joinery manufacturer, who are looking for an experienced Planner to join their growing Pre-Construction team. They work on some of the largest and most prestigious fit out projects in the country, winning numerous multi-million-pound contracts.

The role will include the full range of programme management skills in providing scheduling, planning, advice and the development of the relevant schedules with the following aspects of the development.

Key responsibilities:

• Working with clients such as main contractors and sub-contractors, you will oversee staged deliveries of the programme with detailed planning and progress monitoring processes.
• The post holder will develop and manage integrated programme schedules of detailed delivery plans and provide support to programme directors on planning matters to assist service delivery.
• Assist with the setup planning department(s) and managing other professionals to provide comprehensive project controls support to developers, contractors and partners.
• Progress monitor, assess and status report to the Senior Management Team.
• To operate as a Planning Professional, utilizing knowledge of programme change management and change control processes.
• Liaise upstream, ensuring programmes conform to all contractual obligations whilst allowing sufficient and realistic timeframes to achieve requirements.
• Liaising with sub-contractors and external supply chains to ensure accurate timelines for programmes are compiled.
• Creating histograms to allow resource management/allocation from design, through manufacture and installation.
• Work in a safe manner following Company Procedures, 14001 Environmental, 9001 Quality and Statutory H&S Regulations.

About you:

• Technical experience and knowledge in the Construction industry; joinery installation and MEP services is essential.
• Previous experience in a planning department dealing with a wide range of complex infrastructure programme planning/scheduling, from Shell & Core through to final finishes and handover to client.
• Experience in ASTA programme (including baselines, droplines etc.) is essential.
• Proven ability to convert works scopes and/or technical documents into programmes. (Both tender programmes and 'live' won projects).
• Good time management and ability to multi-task.
• High degree of numeracy, literacy and attention to detail.
