Production Team Leader

£30,000 - £40,000
Monday-Friday 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) + 1 Weekend in 3 On-Call
Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years. Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking for flexible and approachable production team leader to lead their team of shift production staff.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for being first line of contact on shift for all production & packaging operations
- Shopfloor position, managing issues, workload allocation, production plans and progress reports
- Work closely with the production lead to plan for the weeks production plans and map out in advance
- Part of the duty manager on-call weekend rota - covering 1 in 3 Saturdays & Sundays
- Waste management -monitor materials and stock levels, chemical & harmful waste contract supplies
- Health & safety, risk & COSHH assessments, food safety - part of the HACCP team
- Monthly GMP audits
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Need to be a flexible character, working hours could sometimes change
- Must have worked in food or FMCG manufacturing
- Effective leadership, communication & organizational skills
- Good at troubleshooting, problem solving & resolving issues
- Must be happy covering a 1 in 3 weekend on-call rota - sometimes going into site if needed
- Ideally have qualifications in food safety, COSHH, HACCP
- Health & safety awareness
- Production planning & workload allocation experience in a busy environment
- Ideally have worked in a cross functional type role - dealing with engineering, production, quality
