Manufacturing Engineer Manager
Location: Hastings TN38 / Full time permanent position Monday - Friday

Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 10 Manufacturing Engineers and support 6 Toolroom Operatives. Your main goal is to ensure the team excels in machining, plating, molding, and assembly processes, optimising both quality and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a department strategy Aligned with overall business goals.
- Team Management: Oversee and prioritise the workload of the Toolroom, Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, and Estimating departments.
- Process Improvement: Optimise existing production processes and ensure high responsiveness to shop floor issues.
- Collaboration: Work with Design Engineering and Project Managers for timely, cost-effective new product introductions.
- Cost Management: Lead cost reduction initiatives and manage the departmental budget.
- Training and Development: Identify and address training needs of the team, conduct regular 1:1 meetings, and monitor progress.
- Workplace Organisation: Maintain 5S workplace standards.
- Data Management: Prepare data for monthly company presentations.
- Best Practices: Implement TE Operating Advantage (TEOA), Centers of Excellence (COE), and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs).
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Skills and experience:
- Education: Degree in engineering or a related field or industry experience
- Experience: Proven leadership/management in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of (TPM) and Lean Manufacturing (8D, 5S, Cell Design, Quick Change Over).
- Hands-on experience with CNC and molding machines, tool rooms, and MRP systems.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and MS Project.
- Expertise in quality assurance methods like PFMEA and control plans.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
- Experience in continuous improvement and large capital investment projects.
- Ability to work independently and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with SAP, Minitab, and Six Sigma certification.
- Skills in tool and fixture design using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Project management experience and knowledge of digital machine connectivity.
