Acorn's manufacturing client in St Austell, specialising in the production of medical and reusable plastic products, is currently looking for Production Operatives to join on a temporary-to-permanent contract. Working on an attractive continental shift-pattern, you'll receive a great work-life balance!
The company makes orders from 500 parts to bigger orders of 2 million parts, continuously investing in their experienced team, superior management, and latest equipment, to be at the forefront of the industry offering.
After training, your main responsibilities will be:
- Packing work to customer specifications including quality checks e.g., ensuring customer colour standards are met through colour comparison, some measuring and recording of products
- Use of track and trace scanning system to accurately record traceability of orders
- Your assigned machines where you will be checking products, reporting issues, and answering basic alarm requests e.g., trapped component removals
- Some basic paperwork for recording full traceability of products including batch packs
- To keep the area clean and tidy and to meet the deadlines
Role requirements:
- Numeracy and literacy skills are essential
- You can't be colour blind for this role, as it requires putting together blue and red components that are critical for the construction of medical products (if you're not sure, the site provides a test on the interview day)
- Must be punctual and reliable - full training is offered, production experience desirable but not necessary with hard-working attitude
- Positive attitude to actively participate in the shift team you are part of, improving communication and providing efficient handovers

Shifts:
- 4 on / 4 off
- 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am
- The pay is £12.75 - £14.08 per hour + overtime.
