Position Summary:

Perform various processes for ePTFE Grafts, Stent, and Seeker manufacturing which is primarily done in a clean room environment.  This requires following the SOPs and GMPs.

Essential / Key Job Responsibilities (including supervisory and/or fiscal):

• Accurately complete Device History Records and associated paperwork

• Assist with projects and qualifications concerning the process when needed

• Communicate effectively / Positively with co-workers

• Enter batch information into database

• Utilize small hand tools and/or precision devices to aid in the manufacturing process

• Perform manufacturing operations with few errors (demonstrates high quality work)

• Other duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Basic math skills

• English skills, both written and verbal

• Manufacturing experience

• High school diploma preferred.  Equivalent work experience is acceptable.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for packaging and assembly of medical products under direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

• Adheres to GMP, safety, personnel and departmental policies as set forth by Standard Operating Procedures and personnel Manual.

• Assembles, packages, inspects and inventories all products and/or components as prescribed by the supervisor per operation Process Specifications.

• Maintains and accurately records all pertinent information necessary on time sheets, control forms, move tickets, etc.

• Reports any unusual occurrences that may affect the quality, form, fit or function of any products and/or components associated with the Production Department.

• Assures that all cleaning and/or sanitizing of the workstation have been performed prior to production start-up.

• Maintains efficiency levels as defined by Industrial Engineering Standards.

• Maintains product/component segregation.

• Performs other related duties as required or requested by Production Management.

• Attends training sessions as directed.

• Helps train other production operators as directed.

• Conforms to new processes and procedures as directed.

THE ROLE:

We are looking to hire runners for the 2024 season at our venues in the Greater Boston area. As a runner, you will assist in fulfilling the needs of the production department which most commonly includes running errands under the direction of the venue or tour production managers. Driving is a large part of the role, so you must be comfortable driving in the city. Confidentiality is critical to this role.  

The interview process will begin in April with an estimated start date of May 1st 2024.

Several responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Transportation of crew safely to and from airports, hotels, stores, etc. before, during and after shows.

• Purchasing various products/materials required at local stores (Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Walmart, Wholefoods, Guitar Center etc.)

• Facilitating crew meal orders with local restaurants

• Coordinating laundry pickups with the tour at approved vendors

• Maintaining cash and receipts throughout the day 

• Providing local area information to touring personnel

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

The operator performs highly technical operations in the manufacturing and processing of pharmaceutical medical devices as well as setting up, operating, performing maintenance on and troubleshooting equipment.  May include complex and precision adjustments that require an understanding of the manufacturing process and the effect of electronic, pneumatic and mechanical devises on the process.  A strong focus and high attention to detail is required.

Essential job function is to monitor, operate, and maintain two (2) glass syringe forming machines in line with other  equipment (printer, module or various automated barrel transfer systems), inspection equipment, and ovens. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety  regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read, write  and converse in English or Spanish. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

• Accountable for the achievement of key strategic, operational and functional goals.

• Developing and mentoring the manufacturing unit to drive results by focusing on production, associate capability development and ownership. 

• Coordinates and drives all activities within the manufacturing unit and sets priorities.

• Responsible to develop and manage the manufacturing unit’s budget and headcount levels.

• Coordinates the establishment and communication of challenging SQDC goals.  Translates manufacturing unit targets into lines / areas / workplaces and ensures that each associate understands what is expected from them with documented individual, specific and measurable targets.

• Initiates and drives change to ensure that short and long term SQDC goals for the lines / areas under responsibility are being met.

• Resolves issues in the line and for the manufacturing unit in a timely manner, while displaying servant leadership. Manages the team in line with BD values.

• Runs the TMS cycle for the lines/areas and sets the 24-hour direction for the manufacturing unit;

• Does yearly performance reviews of the team and ensures every individual has an active development plan in place and does regular 1:1s with each team member to review performance and help them to grow.

• Leads DTM activities being responsible for creating of DTM work processes (e.g., CIL, CL etc.)

• Facilitates other BDPS/CI activities and programs within the manufacturing unit.

• Collaborate with Logistics to establish production schedules, monitor delivery performance versus schedule.

• Ensures regular, timely, and accurate assessments of hourly associates are delivered through coaching activities.

• Works with associates to resolve issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.

• Builds his/her own mastery in the operation, people management and BDPS.

• Spends more than 50% of the time on the production floor overseeing activities within the manufacturing unit.

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

The Role:

Responsible for performing cleaning during shows, including emptying trash bins during and after the event.  Cleaning walkways and other parts of the venue as needed.  Assisting Maintenance crew to keep the venue safe and clean.

•  Keep the venue safe and clean at all time, including by not limited to: clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, doors and walls of restrooms, keep all guest facing area free of trash, restock restroom paper materials and hygiene products as needed.
  •    Keep work areas neat and orderly, clean equipment and assist with other cleaning duties as assigned. 
  •    Show CARE by participating in venue recycling efforts before, during and after the show.
  •    Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. 
  •    Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 
  •    Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
