A multinational British speciality chemicals and sustainable tech company are looking for Chemical process Operatives to join their leading plant in Brimsdown, Enfield. Previous chemical/manufacturing experience is needed for this role. You must be a Non-Smoker for this role.

You will be responsible for assisting with different tasks in the preparation, processing, and storage of various chemicals in a cautious manner, carried in line with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.

Duties include:

• Supporting the operations team to ensure the on-time delivery of quality product.
• Carrying out tasks and duties as directed by the Production Lead that will contribute to the levels of performance required.
• Carrying out basic preventative maintenance checks and reporting to ensure health and safety standards are met.
• Be health and safety conscious, complying with clients safe working practices.
• Complying with documentation such as risk analysis, process instructions and standard work documents
• Making suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility

Requirements:

• Previous experience within chemical processing or manufacturing is mandatory.
• GCSE grade C (Single Award) or equivalent in Chemistry, Maths and English are a minimum requirement unless candidates can argue that their experience has provided equivalent knowledge.
• Good level of both written and verbal English, would be required to ensure a high quality of recording and following of procedures can be followed.
• You must be a non-smoker due to the nature of chemicals handled at the plant.
• Able to carry out manual tasks.

Based within the Volker Highways Control Centre, the Control Centre Operator is an indispensable part of the proactive and reactive response service for all Volker Highways contracts, being the first point of contact for the emergency response calls from various organisations. The tasks undertaken in this role ensure that the network is safe for the public and without congestion by allocating works to the operatives for emergency and miscellaneous tasks in a co-ordinated manner. The role will also include using Volker Highways' ATOM system, ERCC App and various client systems by instructing and monitoring works orders, permits and emergency responses which are essential to ensuring the company is contractually compliant in all operational matters.

About you

• An understanding of Emergency response
• An understanding of the highway authority contracts
• Previous experience in a control centre environment desirable

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Manufacturing Line Technician who is familiar with working on production lines and FMCG / Food manufacturing environments.

Working as the Manufacturing Line Technician you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient running, maintenance, changeover and troubleshooting of the production lines from raw materials to finished goods.

As the Manufacturing Line Technician you will be expected to champion a zero-accident culture with excellent focus on food safety and quality.

Once trained, you will also be expected to complete basic equipment condition monitoring, preventative maintenance duties and basic engineering repairs.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Manufacturing Line Technician include:

• Lead & ensure H&S and Technical compliance, delivering on all H&S and Quality KPI’s (Near miss reporting, RFT, SML & BRC audit scores etc.)

• Lead and monitor the production line team to ensure all tasks are achieved in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure all daily targets are met

• Check and identify any issues that would affect line efficiency, food safety or product quality and escalate to the engineering team and production Shift Managers, to minimise down time and achieve OEE in line with current targets

• Complete shift handovers with other shift line technicians ensuring you know what the status is in terms of materials required, pallets left to produce, next product, machine downtime and escalate any concerns

• Meet all quality and food standard checks as defined by the Quality Assurance Systems to meet Customer Service targets. This includes verifying tipping process, CCP checks, start up and hourly quality checks

• Carry out Operator Preventative Maintenance e.g. cleaning or greasing of line to maximise smooth running of the lines. Use deep clean schedules, daily and weekly cleaning sheets and maintenance rota as a guide

• Ensure all materials used in production are issued and de-kitted correctly and any finished goods pallets produced are recorded and receipted correctly

• Ensure all line operatives are actively supervised and maintain our high standards for H&S, Food Safety, Quality and OEE compliance

• Deliver training to new operatives on the line operation and ensure they are working safely within the production guide lines (Including temporary staff as required)

• Reconciliation of daily production sent to the storage and distribution partners with the FLT ensuring all variances are resolved
