Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Operates, regulates and maintains the Boiler Plant Unit of a Maintenance and Operations Section.
- Operates all equipment to ensure the boilers produce and control the amount of steam to meet the stations demands.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair to all boiler related equipment.
- Makes hourly checks of all operating equipment, recording pertinent details and makes independent operational decisions and judgments.
- Collects water samples from boiler(s), de-aerating feed tank, condensate return system and city water system.
- Analyzes and records water analysis for acidity, alkalinity, oxygen scavenger and the total dissolved solids and adds hazardous chemicals as required using the proper safety equipment and techniques.
- Assures understanding the observance of rules and regulations concerning safety, fire, conduct, OSHA standards, storage and handling of hazardous materials, and care of equipment.
- Uses all types of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Takes all precautionary measures in an attempt to prevent serious accidents.
Work Schedule:
