About the role:
The Heavy Equipment Operator at the Forrestfield Container Terminal is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient movement of freight, with a key role in assisting with pre-departure checks for containerised freight trains. This includes the installation and removal of twist locks, ensuring containers are secured, and assisting with the loading and unloading of double-stacked trains. The role involves close coordination with equipment operators, and experience with forklifts and Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) is highly desirable.
Safe Operation of forklifts, elevated work platform. Additionally Reach stacker is desirable.
Assist with pre-departure inspections for containerised freight trains, including ensuring all containers are properly secured, twist locks are correctly installed, and safety protocols are followed.
Assist in loading and unloading containers, including double-stacked trains, ensuring efficient and safe handling of cargo.
