Under the supervision of a Psychologist, is responsible for the administration, mechanical or computerized scoring and distribution (or storage) of a variety of psychological tests, including Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), and the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory.

Responsible for the implementation of the Bureau of Prison’s (BOP) automated/computerized psychology data entry system including initial implementation of Psychology Data System (PDS), training of all psychology staff, routine data entry and retrieval, automated test scoring and reconciling discrepancies in the files.

Types, duplicates and distributes letters, memos, agendas, forms, certificates, meeting minutes, and reports for the Chief Psychologist.

Maintains tracking logs for Special Housing Unit monthly monitoring, clinical contacts as determined by Mental Health Care Level assignments and treatment plan requirements, monthly psychotropic compliance, suicide watch monitoring and follow-up, request for services, and incoming inmates (for Admissions and Orientation (A&O) purposes).

Purchase card holder for the department; verifies obligated expenditures do not exceed yearly budget allotments; prepares purchase orders, requisitions, and maintains accounting of department expenditures and adjustments.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis.

• Conduct experiments on crop plants and collect different tissues for sequencing and other molecular analysis.
• Perform a variety of molecular techniques including nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) extraction and quantification, primer designing, and quantitative PCR analysis.
• Maintain, calibrate, and modify equipment for test and evaluation procedures.
• Tabulate, statistically analyze, and summarize data using software packages including R programming.

• Provide professional nursing care through the delivery, management, and coordination of care and services in a clinic setting through face-to-face encounters or via telehealth/virtual nursing.
• Manage acute and episodic healthcare concerns, health maintenance and promotion, disease prevention and management, patient education, case management, and coordination of care for patients throughout the healthcare system.
• Make independent nursing diagnoses by analyzing assessment data to determine patient care needs, i.e., preventive services, health promotion, health maintenance, or health-related problems or issues.
• Obtain and screen radiology, laboratory, and pathology study results, notifying the credentialed provider of abnormal results.
• Document all nursing care and services in the patient’s electronic health record.
• Perform medication administration via various routes (e.g., oral, optic, ophthalmic, rectal, vaginal, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous, topical, etc.).

Project management: Assist senior staff members in planning, engineering management, operation, and overall coordination; and for providing advice, assistance and information on all matters related to assigned conventional projects of moderate complexity. Work typically requires coordination of project work requirements with other technical and administrative elements within the agency. Applies standardized knowledge of engineering principles, methods, techniques, and criteria to projects that are conventional in nature. Provides engineering services associated with job order contracting and construction to include evaluating tenant requirements; to establish scope of work; design criteria; and estimates of design time and costs; providing technical assistance to support contract administration; accomplishing study/design requirements; and preparing/coordinating design packages for renovations, repairs and or alterations.

Customer support: Serves as a central point-of-contact for status of all engineering work requests of a short-term nature. Reviews work requests for feasibility, compliance with restrictions imposed by regulatory and statutory directives and the impact of the planned operation and maintenance of the installation. Within the parameters of prior experience, determines which requests the incumbent can approve and have processed, and which require other approving authorities. Based on determinations, makes recommendations to the methods or means for accomplishment or provides all required information, such as scope of work and costs, to other authorities for their decision. Ensures that work requests are processed in accordance with established operating procedures, that they are checked for duplication, and they are processed in accordance with approved priorities. Provides technical assistance to other parties as may be required to improve work management and productivity.

Technical reviews: Reviews and checks technical aspects such as drawings, specifications, quantities, costs, accuracy, completeness and conformity with requirements for planned projects where precedence has already been established. Participates in the preparation of input to procurement packages to ensure correct content and format of technical data. Monitors drawings and the methods used in their preparation. Attends meetings with pertinent personnel to evaluate progress and reviews completed work. Verifies data presented by contractors or other personnel and discusses any special requirements for specification control and source control drawings.

Long-term planning: As a team member, participates in projects of a broad and complex nature requiring approval of advanced engineering concepts by senior staff members. Assignments are routine in nature and guidance is generally available. To address long-term needs, participates in group meetings with stakeholders to discuss complex engineering and technical problem areas and proposed approaches. Maintains contact with design engineers, technical personnel of other government activities and private contractors to resolve common problems, such as exchanging information. Participates in studies to address problems in healthcare quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Utilizes a range of analytical techniques, statistical methods, and industrial and quality engineering tools, to collect baseline information that identifies limitations or potential improvements.

Serves as test conductor, test coordinator, test team leader, and mission controller. Utilizes a practical knowledge of the construction, operation and limitations of a variety of types and models of electronic and related equipment including acquisition radars, target illuminator radars, guided missiles, ground fire control equipment, manned and unmanned targets and instrumentation and applies this knowledge and operating experience to the actual planning, organizing, scheduling and coordination of test operations and mission control functions. The major duties include but are not limited to:

• Pulls stock inventory and material for delivery, replenishes stock inventory, interacts with clinical and administrative customers, and maintains records on stock levels;

• Responding to emergency medical assistance calls by ambulance, patrol vehicle, and / or on foot to emergency scenes while adhering to park standard operating procedures, governing traffic ordinances and laws pertaining to the operation of emergency and patrol vehicles.
• Independently conducts accurate and complete patient assessments in the field, ambulance and clinical setting. Uses advanced knowledge of topographic anatomy, knowledge of major body systems, knowledge of emergency medical techniques and procedures and knowledge relevant to understanding the legal considerations of emergency care.
• Perform initial triage of patient(s), following with additional patient assessment. Selects appropriate patient treatment protocol and/or modifies protocols independently from basic approaches, if necessary. Appropriately determines the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition. Identifies and treats trauma and medical emergencies using knowledge of emergency medical treatment techniques/procedures, topographic anatomy, and major body systems (e.g.; skeletal, muscular, nervous, etc.).
• Appropriately documents all assessment findings, treatments and procedures, patient demographics, insurance and billing information. Demonstrates literacy in computerized information systems.
• Recognizes the signs and symptoms of life-threatening and non-life-threatening trauma and medical emergencies. Provides appropriate basic treatment as outlined in governing protocol(s), in route, or until advanced or definitive care is provided. Conducts field treatment at scene, in route or until definitive care is provided. Assists with patient treatment in clinical setting under the supervision and direction of a higher level provider.
• Communicates clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, with patients, medical staff and public safety personnel, exhibiting familiarity with medical terminology.

Primarily responsible for providing emergency assessment and medical care to inmate patients.

First responder at the scene of sudden illness or emergency and sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.

Determines, upon consultation with a medical provider (physician/physician assistant/nurse practitioner), the most appropriate method of transportation to the local hospital.

Prioritizes treatments for patients having multiple problems and employs a variety of established medical emergency procedures, techniques, methods and equipment, including the performance of emergency triage.
