As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Assisting in all decorating.
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

Clean all surfaces using appropriate methods to remove debris. Clean all hard floors and mop daily. Empty, clean and replenish waste bins. Carry out appropriate waste disposal procedures. Clean internal glass/screens and ledges. Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Clean dining room furniture. Replenish consumables paper towels, soap etc. Adopt a flexible approach. Ensure the correct storage of all items. Collect and clean all crockery and cutlery and kitchen utensils as required using automatic dishwashers where available. Carry out the regeneration of prepared meals, preparation of salads and sandwiches, and any other food items as required. Ensure that the patient meals are placed in the appropriate ward trolleys at the correct time and ready for service. To prepare and serve food and beverages as required.
