A position has arisen for a Teaching and Technician Assistant, within the Faculty Simulation Unit. The post is located within the Tithebarn Street Building, in the School of Nursing and Allied Health and reports to the Faculty Resource Manager. You must be able to start at 8:30am or earlier as required. Currently around six months of the year the post operates on a shift, with early and late work usually from 8am to 8pm, on designated days throughout the week. Occasional weekends for Open Days and other activities are required.

The role supports setting up, supporting teaching in class, and setting down of equipment daily. IOSH certified will be an advantage or required to pass IOSH training early in your appointment, to teach Manual Handling techniques. You will also support specialised technical support with medical disciplines such as Endoscopy.

You will provide first line support operating and maintaining computer based clinical simulators, manikins, models, trainers, other equipment as well as medical consumables. An element of this role includes the support of Immersive Environment technology, VR, and specialist clinical equipment. You will also support General IT, and classroom audio visual needs throughout the general teaching spaces and meeting rooms.

Previous technical experience in an Education or NHS environment would be advantageous, with strong IT skills are going to be needed to succeed in this role. Five GCSEs or equivalent or previous work/life experience in a relevant role.

The trainee Estates and Facilities officer will collaborate with the Estates Manager at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust to ensure timely delivery of estates-related activities. This role involves providing local support for operational services, focusing on monitoring statutory compliance, ensuring safe work practices, and facilitating minor capital and revenue projects. The officer will also assist in managing contractors engaged in estates and facilities related tasks. Key responsibilities include: Acting as a local point of contact for estates operational services Overseeing statutory compliance and safe work practices. Supporting the Estates Manager in day-to-day operations. Developing scope of works for estates related projects. Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure the successful delivery of estates projects. The postholder will communicate progress to colleagues across the Trust to minimise impact on clinical and operational functions and promptly reporting any delays or issues with project delivery. Additionally, the role requires flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and pressures to effectively serve the Trust outside of the postholders primary discipline. Assist with the renewal/replacement, procurement, and management of any estates and facilities related service contracts. Ensure any reporting is delivered in a timely manner. Service Delivery To ensure any related projects are completed to the highest standards and meet all compliance requirements. To ensure regular attendance at, and reporting to, Trust committees and groups, as required, in order to update on related activity. Risk Reviewing risk assessments and method statements for on-site contractor activities as well as undertaking and issuing contractor inductions and permit to work, respectively. Establish a procedure for conducting regular health and safety audits to uphold high standards of health and safety compliance among contractors at all times. To be able to work to, and create, Trust risk assessments, as necessary. To ensure COSHH risk assessments are reviewed and updated, where required. Maintenance Assistant - Ward Maintenance Support Worker

The Maintenance department is looking to recruit a maintenance assistant to take on the role of a Ward Maintenance Support Worker.

The role will undertake planned and reactive maintenance of essential systems across the diverse building services of the Trust estate.

You will need to have the ability to analyze faults and undertake rectifications to ensure continuity of service.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual who has the ability to prioritise workloads, identify potential improvement within their work area and be proactive in providing a high level of service to staff, patients and site visitors.

The Ward Maintenance team are allocated specific areas of the Hospital site where they are tasked with the daily maintenance of their respective areas. Typical duties include replacing ceiling tiles, unblocking sinks, replacing light tubes/lamps, filling in simple holes in walls, fire alarm tests, re-fixing items that fall off the walls etc. in accordance with the Trusts 21 Standards.
