The Faculty of Science is seeking a dedicated Senior Technician in Biomolecular Science to provide advanced technical support for teaching. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective operation of our laboratories, enhancing the student learning experience, and supporting initiatives in the school of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences.

The governors are seeking to appoint a Senior Science Technician. The successful candidate will be an energetic and conscientious individual with a good degree of flexibility to support the delivery of practical science across all science specialisms. With limited instruction or guidance, the post holder will assist teachers in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources, equipment and science facilities.



The technician may also be required to support within lessons where specialist equipment is being used, or additional supervision/instruction is required.



The ideal candidate will have the highest of expectations and aspirations for themselves and others. They will be innovative, creative and ideally will have up-to-date knowledge of scientific equipment and materials, including the safe storage and disposal of used chemicals, Health and Safety, COSHH, CLEAPSS and other relevant legislation.



The Maghull High Science Department currently consists of 10 teaching staff, 10 dedicated labs including 2 new labs, 2 preparation rooms and 1 chemical store with equipment and resources for the teaching of KS3, GCSE, A Levels and BTEC qualifications.

Senior Technician - Lighting

The Liverpool Empire Theatre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Technician for Lighting. This role is an integral part of the technical team within this busy regional venue.

You will fully support the Head of Lighting and Sound in all aspects of lighting and sound, you will also work with the Technical team to drive forward the highest standards of technical support to visiting companies and in house projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills in Lighting including rigging, focusing, lighting design work, operation of lighting desks and have prior experience in large scale touring or venues.
