What skills and experience we're looking for



We are looking for a person to work with the Science team to support staff and students in the delivery of effective practical work through the management, maintenance and administration of materials and resources in accordance with the relevant school policies and statutory legislation, as well as overseeing health and safety within the Science department.



Responsible for co-ordinating the use of practical resources, facilities and providing assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the Science curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff and support staff outside the department.

HOMECARE SERVICE (Principal Duties) 1. Liaise and communicate effectively with all members of the homecare team involved in the prescribing, supply and delivery of Homecare medicines including Homecare providers. 2. Process invoices on the Pharmacy computer system, checking prices and contract details, ensuring compliance with the Trusts Better Payments policy. Where discrepancies are found, liaise with relevant homecare companies to resolve. 3. Input, search and retrieve data relating to the Homecare service using Trust computer systems and databases. 4. Check account statements from homecare companies and reconcile invoices from the Pharmacy computer system to the statements. Check invoices and liaise with RJAH Finance Department when necessary to ensure invoices are paid promptly. 5. Provide advice and operational support to patients, carers, homecare providers and Trust staff regarding homecare enquiries and refer to the relevant Lead Technician Medicines Homecare or specialist pharmacists if necessary. This may include communicating with patients who are distressed, frustrated and those with disabilities and being sensitive to their needs. 6. Ensure that the correct orders are raised, released, delivered, and issued via the Pharmacy computer system. 7. Support or in the absence of lead homecare technician screen prescriptions and registration forms to ensure they meet all legal requirements and that they are due and appropriate. Refer to the clinician before passing on to a pharmacist for a clinical check. 8. Communicate with ICSs / LHBs regarding funding issues for Homecare patients. 9. Support development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 10. Maintain the supplier contact matrix. 11. To assist in the monitoring and audit of homecare related incidents, ensuring where appropriate they are reported on Datix. Liaise with homecare providers to investigate such issues according to the RoyalPharmaceutical Society Homecare standards. 12. Undertake research and development activities as directed, collating information e.g., reports on homecare supply, delayed and incorrect invoicing. Senior Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

Senior Maintenance Technician Essential Qualifications:

• Time served HNC/HND (Mechanical and Electrical) with practical engineering supervision / (minimum 2 years) desirable in a manufacturing environment packaging / FMCG / automotive.
• PLC & Pneumatics control experience essential - ability to design/ modify / build software.
• Practical approach to modern problem-solving tools & techniques.
• NEBOSH/IOSH H&S qualifications and wide practical experience desirable.

Senior Maintenance Technician Skill Requirements:

• Engineering supervisory experience in a 'lean culture' manufacturing environment.
• Several years' experience as a Maintenance / Facilities in a packaging /automotive / FMCG working environment.
• Broad knowledge of equipment types: -packaging & processing.
• Continuous improvement techniques & tools 5s, Kaisen etc.
