Job Overview

The Zero Waste Manager, a key member of Planning and Facilities Management, is responsible for the design, implementation, and overall  management and ongoing optimization of Georgetown University’s Zero Waste initiatives. These initiatives include reuse, recovery, redeployment, and donation efforts related to food products, furniture, clothing, educational and/or recreational equipment, and other materials that are salvageable or could otherwise be reused or recycled. Working with campus partners and the Georgetown University community at large, their goal is to identify opportunities and establish initiatives to reduce, minimize, or eliminate material waste campus-wide.

Working in conjunction with the Office of Sustainability, the Zero Waste Manager leads efforts and teams to improve waste management services, including the collection and proper disposal of mixed recycling, food waste, yard waste, cardboard, metals, batteries, furniture, construction debris, mattresses, and other solid waste.

As well they assist in leading efforts to achieve Georgetown’s ambitious long-term vision of achieving Zero Waste (defined by industry standards as at least 90% diversion rate for solid waste).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinates sales and optimizes revenue for recyclable materials
• Hires, trains and supervises permanent, temporary and student employees
• Tracks, evaluates and continually optimizes program performance
• Coordinates operations with other internal and external parties as necessary to achieve goals and objectives

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Working in the Planning and Facilities Management Department, the Zero Waste Manager reports directly to the Assistant Director of Environmental Services. In turn, they supervise the Supervisor of Solid Waste Disposal and Recycling and a team of Recycling Laborers and Heavy Vehicle Operators. During the course of the workday, the Zero Waste Manager interacts directly with faculty, staff, administrators, employees, students, senior leadership, neighbors, external partners, vendors, government agencies and the general public.

As well, they collaborate with colleagues and partners as needed to accomplish the department’s goals - for example, Aramark (Hoya Hospitality), the Office of Sustainability, Office of Neighborhood Life, GUSA, Residential Living, Residential Education, EH&S, SSC, GEMS, as well as other shops and divisions internal to PFM, and others.

Le rôle du Chef de programme, maintenance et fiabilité est principalement axé sur le support à la mise en place des meilleures pratiques de gestion des activités de maintenance et de la fiabilité et sur l’identification et la mise en œuvre d’initiatives à valeur ajoutée qui contribuent à changer la culture en place, à maximiser la disponibilité des équipements de production et à améliorer l’efficacité opérationnelle ainsi que la productivité des usines de transformation.

En quoi consiste ce rôle :

• Supporter activement les déploiements RTT ans la mise en place d’éléments fondamentaux, basés sur les meilleures pratiques, au niveau de la maintenance, afin d’assurer le succès des déploiements RTT ainsi que la pérennité et l’évolution du programme

• Contribuer au développement et la capabilité des gestionnaires en usine dans les domaines clés reliés à la gestion du travail, la fiabilité des équipements, la gestion des actifs, l’analyse et l’élimination des défaillances.

• Guider, aider et soutenir les usines dans l’élaboration des plans 90 jours en vue d’améliorer la productivité et la disponibilité des équipements en se concentrant sur le déploiement proactif des différents standards de la pyramide de gestion des actifs d’Agropur.

• Diriger/faciliter des activités d’amélioration en usine comme le développement/optimisation des plans de maintenance, analyse de criticité, mise en place de processus de gestion, résolution de problème, définition des rôles et responsabilités etc.

• Définir les indicateurs de performance de maintenance et fiabilité des usines, assurer la standardisation de la méthodologie de calculs de ceux-ci et en assurer la publication et établir les processus d’escalade associés.

• Diriger des diagnostics et audits des usines afin de les positionner par rapport aux meilleures pratiques de l’industrie afin de faire ressortir les écarts et les opportunités d’amélioration.  Participer à l’élaboration des plans d’actions associés en fonction des besoins de l’usine et des priorités de l’organisation.

• Supporter les usines dans la préparation des plans stratégiques (OGSM) de site au niveau des objectifs reliés à la gestion des actifs. Préparer et présenter, à travers les différentes tribunes de gestion, les niveaux d’avancement des usines vers l’atteinte des objectifs établis.

• Supporter les usines lors de déploiement de plan d’aide d’urgence en fiabilité afin d’aider les usines à rencontrer les niveaux de services attendus dans des délais précis

• Soutenir activement les réseaux d’échange de pratiques en gestion de la maintenance et en fiabilité dont la transmission du savoir et la promotion de la discipline auprès de la communauté de pratique interne et des représentants corporatifs des différentes unités d’affaire

Ce qu'il te faut pour joindre notre équipe :

• 5 à 7 ans d’expérience en gestion de maintenance industrielle et/ou en implantation de programmes d’entretien préventifs et/ou fiabilité.

• Maîtrise de la suite Office et des outils de reporting ainsi que des différents logiciels de GMAO sur le marché

• Bonne expérience en gestion de changement

• A l’aise avec le processus d’amélioration continu et bonne connaissance du Lean Manufacturing

• Doit être mobile (27 usines à supporter à travers le Canada)

• Doit être bilingue (interlocuteur internes et externes unilingue anglophone)
