Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and major repair on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles. This may include self-propelled artillery, tracked cargo and personnel carriers, road graders, mobile cranes, front loaders, bulldozers, power shovels, tanks, tracked combat vehicles, all terrain vehicles, semi trailers, forklifts, tractors, and accessory equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and/or overhauls, as a regular and recurring duty, a variety of the mechanically complex major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls, cross drive or similar multi-system transmissions and a variety of intricate fuel injection systems. Makes repairs and modifications to assemblies and components such as voltage regulators, generators/alternators, brake cylinders, etc., for use or placement in systems for which they were not specifically designed. Improvises work when standard procedures do not apply.

Assists in the maintenance of production reports and records, and makes recommendations to the supervisor. Plans, organizes, and performs technical analyses as required or assigned. I am dealing with a good client of mine who is a large manufacturer to assist them in sourcing an Engineering Maintenance Manager for their site in Ayrshire. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the ideal candidate will come from a mechanical or electrical background and have in-depth knowledge and experience in heavy industry with a proven track record in good manufacturing practice and lean principles.

You will be responsible for all mechanical and electrical maintenance work, automation, site projects and maintenance systems on site. You will work closely with operations to manage the sites' production capacity to deliver on the Group's strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Lead the maintenance team of fitters and electricians to deliver high performance process efficiency.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills to ensure performance of people and equipment is optimised.
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of asset management, reliability, maintenance strategy, organisation and systems, including planning, CMMS, preventive and condition-based maintenance.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Knowledge of maintenance strategies e.g. RCM, TPM, Asset Management are desirable.

The successful candidate will promote the ethos and well-being of the School as determined by the Head, in particular with regard to Health and Safety, neatness, cleanliness, orderliness, presentation and attractiveness.

This is a hands-on role and candidates must have an understanding of all relevant statutory requirements to ensure the school is compliant with health and safety legislation and act as the registered Competent Person for the school.

The Facilities Manager reports to a dual line to the Head of Facilities and Head of Estates within the Eltham College Family of Schools.


Key Duties

Health and Safety
• Act as the schools designated Competent Person.
• Report to the Head of Facilities on any Health and Safety non-compliance as
necessary.
• Oversee risk assessments for all maintenance and premises in conjunction
with the Family of Schools Health and Safety lead.
• Keep abreast and maintain compliance with current regulations in all areas.
• Ensure emergency and fire procedures are appropriate and reviewed
regularly.
• Promote a positive and effective culture of health and safety across the
school.
• Deliver the school’s Health and Safety Policy in conjunction with the Chief
Operating Officer.
• Supervise water hygiene monitoring.
• Provide support with out of hours security needs as required.


Fire and major incidents
• Act as one of the Fire Officers of the school.
• Ensure all systems are regularly maintained and tested, appropriate records
and all related policies and procedures are reviewed and update as
necessary
with the Head of Facilities .


Financial accountability
• Formulate and manage premises and maintenance budgets and authorise
invoices as required.


School Management
• Delivery of annual planned and reactive maintenance for the school.
• Ensure the schools gas, electrical and water suppliers are operated
efficiently,
compliant with regulations, upgraded where necessary and maintained
effectively.
• Undertake minor repairs and building tasks to a high standard when
necessary.
• Oversee contracted cleaning services.
• Oversee the management of service contracts, including tendering and
tender
analysis.
• Ensure appropriate digitalised reporting, monitoring and control systems
relating to the schools internal building fabric and furniture, including the
maintenance of an asset register.
• Undertake general maintenance as appropriate.
• Ensure that the grounds of the school site are maintained to the highest
standard.
• Work with the school community, parents and PTFA to create smooth
logistical programmes for events within the school grounds e.g. Christmas
Fair.
• Ensure contractors carry out works as required in a safe manner.


People Management
• Deploy, lead, manage and effectively supervise the premises and
maintenance
team including conducting appraisals.
• Oversee the staffing needs for external club support over evenings and
Saturdays with potential opportunity to earn overtime if working in person.
• Ensure all PPE is fit for purpose, correctly worn and maintained.
• Train staff in use of systems where needed.


Project Management
• In conjunction with the Head of Estates and Head of Facilities, manage
allocated projects from inception to completion of snagging and complying
with budgets.


Person Specification

The appointee will need to be physically fit, organised, financially aware, computer literate, forward thinking, adaptable, able to work at heights, be a good communicator and have attention to detail.

Other qualities include:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact
with people at all levels, particularly young people of all ages.
• Confidence and assertiveness combined with the ability to exercise tact and

• Experience in a similar role is preferred.

Terms of Appointment

• The post is available ASAP on a permanent, full-time basis.
• The role requires working a shift pattern of 40 hours per week between 7am
and 9pm, with the occasional opportunity for overtime.
• Salary is offered at £35,000 per annum.

• Provide Technical Support services including: Data Centre operations, equipment maintenance and service provisioning
• Manage multiple concurrent interdisciplinary projects and ability to work in a team
• Lead, manage/support and deliver the Data Center related initiatives with coordination with both external and internal stakeholders
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to design/define and develop the SOP for Data Center services and in-house machine rooms
• Asset and Inventory management within Data Center and in-house machine rooms
• Support Data Centre/Machine rooms related audit duties, record validation and housekeeping work
• Incident handling, problem troubleshooting and escalation to upper tier
• Organize and co-ordinate Business Continuity Activities/Drill
• Maintain accurate records, document all problems, and prepare reports
• Maintain accurate IT Asset inventory/records and prepare reports
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Min 10 years of experience in Data Center industry and operations
• Experience in DC Design Engineering, Project management and implementation
• Experience with professional consultant in planning and executing Engineering studies.
• Bachelor degree or in Mechanical / Electronic or Industrial Engineering or related disciplines
• Experience working with external vendors
• Customer focus with good communications and interpersonal skills
• Good communication in English speaking and writing
• Discipline, self-initiative, self-motivate
