Leading Edge Computers are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified IT Helpdesk Technician/Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join their team in Griffith 2680.
Overview of Responsibilities
The IT Helpdesk Technician is pivotal in maintaining the operational health of an organisation’s networks and computer systems. This role focuses on providing front-line support and technical assistance related to computer systems, hardware, and software, resolving issues to ensure efficient operation and minimising downtime. Responsibilities include managing network configurations, supporting network and system infrastructure, and providing end-user troubleshooting and support.
Duties
- Monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the organisation.
- Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults, and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.
- Serve as the first line of support for customers experiencing issues with IT services and products, assessing problems and resolving them through diagnostic techniques.
- Ensure accurate network documentation and logs, and maintain network security tools.
- Respond to network access and connectivity issues, helping to manage network servers and technology tools.
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
- Prioritise and manage multiple open cases at one time.
- Test and evaluate new technology.
Qualifications Required
- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferable.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of computer network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
- A deep understanding of networking protocols.
- Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
- Team-oriented mindset to provide hands-on support to other IT staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
Relevant Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in an IT support role, with a preference for candidates who have worked in network support or helpdesk positions.
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
