In this role, the Neurophysiology Technician will have an Intraoperative focus on populations of all age groups, interacting with Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Cardiac and Vascular teams. Set up patient for Operating Room monitoring with minimal supervision, including effectively and cooperatively partnering with the surgical and anesthesia teams. Perform electrode application in an anesthetized patient while adhering to scrupulous observance of sterile Operating Room protocols. Conduct electrode application using needle electrodes for intraoperative stimulation and recording.

The shift for this position is 7:00 am - 3:00 pm plus on-call and weekend coverage as needed. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

• Graduation from an accredited electroneurodiagnostic technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) 

Required Criteria

The Customer Product Repair Mechanic is responsible for all processes related to disassembly, repair, and assembly of a range of equipment/products including but not limited to rotating equipment, of high energy electric actuators, pumps, small compressors, and decoking equipment. The CPRM will work with team leads to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists. The CPRM independently selects and uses inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components during the assembly and repair process and gives a written description of the wear and condition of critical components. This position also ensures all forms and documentation are complete prior to submission of quotation. The CPRM will also be responsible to paint, install all tagging, and prep the equipment prior to shipment to the customer.

This role has a rotating schedule (1st shift for 6 weeks then 2nd shift for 3).

First shift is: 7:30am – 4pm. (Monday – Friday)

Second shift is: 4pm – 2am. (Monday – Thursday)

Requirements:

- HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant Millwright experience

- Significant experience with the proper and safe use of various common power and hand tools needed for assembly.

- Ability to independently, inspect, repair, and assemble, components and equipment, and accurately complete all required documentation.

- Electrical wiring experience or mechanical assembly experience.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

For Residential Facility and Withdrawal Management:

• Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.

• Encourage clients/patients to adhere to program expectations and rules in a trauma informed manner and communicate concerning behaviors to the treatment team and supervisor as soon as possible.  The supervisor and/or treatment team will assist with developing/implementing therapeutic interventions.
• Participate as an active member of the treatment team by helping to identify client’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
• Document and/or report at shift change and/or in client/patient record any exceptional behavior and/or areas of concerns related to client’s behaviors/interactions.
• Assist in admission/orientation process with regard to client rights and rules under the supervision of the assigned supervisor. This may include obtaining vital signs, safety search of client/patient and/or belongings and collecting any urine/lab specimens for testing.
• Facilitate urine collection, testing, lab send-offs, and document in the client record following policy and procedures.
• Operate telephone system, record incoming messages accurately, place telephone calls as necessary or directed practicing good customer service skills and respond to crisis calls as necessary communicating with supervisor and/or treatment team in a timely manner.
• Assist, educate, and redirect clients/patients in performing daily activities as needed.
• Monitor client activities and document client activities occurring on shifts that are relevant to client’s/patient’s progress or behavior, including bed check documentation during overnight shifts.
• Ensure all clients/patients are accounted and present in scheduled activities.
• Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive social interaction and role-modeling a solution focused approached to issues of concern.
• Ensure precaution protocols are adhered to and appropriate documentation occurs.
• Assist in monitoring general health conditions of clients/patients facilitating communications with the supervisor or treatment team in a timely manner.
• Prepare for and facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled and assigned.  NOTE:  In some programs, this may be a core aspect of job duties.

About the Role

The Mechatronics Junior Apprentice (MJA) will learn to perform the job of a Mechatronics Junior Technician to install, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, control systems and components in a complex fulfillment/distribution center through the completion of a comprehensive classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job learning program. The apprentice will also train in and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.

Participants must be able to attend a 12-week training at one of five colleges: Vincennes University (Vincennes, IN), Lehigh Carbon Community College (Allentown, PA), Wake Technical College (Raleigh, NC), Ogeechee Technical College (Statesboro, GA), or Dallas College – Eastfield Campus (Dallas, TX). Travel-related expenses, including room and board, during the training will be provided.

Participants will receive a fixed hourly rate for training, after successful completion of the Apprenticeship Program the Apprentice will receive a promotion to a Mechatronics Junior Technician position at an increased fixed rate.
