An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineers to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Glasgow (Relocation package available).
Our Submarines business is currently working on a large campaign in which we are looking for engineers across multiple engineering disciplines. As part of this we are looking for a number of people with a background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation to join us in (but not limited to):
- Control Systems,
- Electrical Control & Instrumentation,
- Electronic Systems,
- FPGA,
- Firmware,
- Hardware Engineers /Design Engineers,

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. What you will be doing:
You will work with key stakeholders to integrate and manage system requirements.
- Design, specify for manufacture, test, commission and support both bespoke and commercial off the shelf Electrical Control and Instrumentation systems.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to a standard compatible with engineering best practice.
- Undertake project planning and control to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
- Occasional site working to carry out design reviews, investigations, equipment trials, commissioning and upgrade activities.

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience of engineering design to commercial standards within the electrical, control or automation industries.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Controls and Instrumentation systems and architecture.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in selection and practical implementation of instrumentation solutions.
- Experience in power system design for control applications.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
