PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Performs general pharmacy technician duties and assists with counting and filling prescriptions. Contributes to the provision of quality pharmacy services to dialysis and other patients in accordance with state pharmacy regulations and Fresenius Medical Care Pharmacy policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under Pharmacist guidance and per company policies and procedures, assists with dispensing of products and performs general pharmacy technician duties as follows:

  • Monitors the drug file in the software application and prepares prescriptions for packaging/distribution.
  • Retrieves count and obtains prescription drugs, devices, and related materials from stock.
  • Counts and fills patient prescriptions based on order.
  • Prepares prescription labels to be placed on dispensing containers.
  • Attaches additional information and instructions on the dispensing container, when necessary.
  • Presents final dispensed product(s) to Pharmacist for verification and final check.
  • On occasion, compounds products such as creams, ointments, and liquid oral products.
  • On occasion, responsible for IV sterile compounding.
• Ensures that pharmacy dispensing, compounding supplies, and preparation bench areas are clean and orderly at all times. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
• Assists with performing monthly inventory checks. Reviews stock for recalls and expired medications. Notifies Inventory Coordinator or supervisor if stock is low on a particular medication or product.
• May assist in maintaining adequate levels of inventory by ordering drugs, devices, and related materials following established procedure.
• Assists the shipping department with the packaging, distribution, and tracking of patient orders.
• Prepares and labels stocked drugs, devices, and related materials for future dispensing.
• Creates and updates patient’s health and demographic information in computer system.
• Obtains and enters patient, medical, or prescription order data into the patient information system.
• Maintains an orderly filing system, as applicable.
• Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Performs continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure. (30%)
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport. Identifies changes and responds or reports to the RN as appropriate. (30%)
• Cleans and maintains the telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge. (10%)
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors. Ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings. (20%)
• Performs other unit specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Direct, manage and evaluate maintenance personnel. Counsel, discipline, and discharge subordinate personnel when necessary. Interview and hire personnel as required. (20%)
• Manage and/or perform the operations of the maintenance management computer system. This includes system design, upgrading, programming and implementation thereof.  (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Prior job related experience of at least 3- 5 years.
• 3 years in a management role
• License as required for area of expertise.

• Be proficient in the functionality of the BMS/EMS and understand the sequences required for proper building, equipment and system operations.
• Work with engineers, contractors and consultants in evaluating the proper operation of the building systems.
• Maintain a professional, safe and clean environment.
• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs.
• Adhere to established HVAC work order preventive maintenance schedule and maintain HVAC equipment on an ongoing basis.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, assisting other tradesmen, and emergency repairs.
• Completes work in accordance with C&W Services Business Systems Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
  • Create and maintain all operational SOPs for site specific equipment and systems.
  • Mentor / train assigned apprentices.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):

• Ten years’ Experience operating central plant.
• Experience working with DDC and pneumatic controls
• Experience working with capital construction projects.
• Minimum of Ten years field experience in down town class A office towers
• Education or training in HVAC, refrigeration and controls
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License 5 Plus years Required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Strong writing skills required.

• Ability to lift 25lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally

(if applicable) Assure building is property maintained and the patient rooms/living areas are clean upon discharge. Cover residential telephone lines as needed. MINIMUM CREDENTIALS/REQUIREMENTS

Level 9.5 position requires certification as Emergency Medical Technician and to maintain EMT .  Requires HS Diploma or GED.  Must have and maintain driver’s license and good driving record. Staff utilizing electronic health records and/or other automated/electronic documentation systems are required to have computer and keyboarding experience and skills or the ability to develop such skills within required timeframes in order to meet the level of proficiency set by the agency.

Some details about this position:

• No Dialysis experience is required.

• Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic

• Potential to float to various clinics during and after your training

• You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

What you can expect:

• Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.

• Our PCTs care for multiple patients.

• Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.

• Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.

• Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

• Assist Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

• Monitors client self-administration of over the counter (OTC) medications, as well as the inventory and storage of OTC medications.

• High School education OR equivalent and two (2) years responsible employment
