This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service.

The National Park Service retains the right to extend the duration of this appointment after selection and/or appointment, based on changes to the regulation governing the number of years term appointments may last. This change, which may be made at the agency's sole discretion and without further competition, shall not be construed or interpreted as the granting of a right to a selectee or employee to such an extension. Major Duties:

• Serve as field crew lead for archeological monitoring surveys and excavations, including recording the location of sites, recording archeological and environmental data, and writing summary reports.
• Maintain field notes, field and excavation descriptions, drawings, maps, photographs, and video recordings related to archeological work
• Perform archeological research.
• Use computer software and digital photography. Use related databases, spreadsheets, forms, maps, and files. Use the Interior Collections Management System (ICMS) to catalog artifact collections.
• Understand Southeastern archeology, prehistory, and history sufficient to reliably identify and record cultural remains in the field and in the lab.

• Issue requests for proposal (RFPs) for additions, deletions, modification, and/or other contract changes.
• Examine contract plans and negotiate changes with the Contractor.
• Discuss needs for joint, pre-final, and final inspections with Resident Engineer.
• Review construction plans and specifications to determine suitability of contracts.
• Ensure quality control of Contractor operations by exercising surveillance.
• Review safety plans for Contractors and provide recommendations and advice to Resident Engineer.
• Assure as-built drawings are submitted, transmittals are cleared, deficiencies corrected, and contract close-out requirements are met.
• Inspect Contractor safety precautions and review safety reports.
• Analyze problems and review and interpret requirements of personnel or contractor representatives.

• Responsible for Flight Services, obtaining flight clearances, and validating required Flight Crew Information File (FCIF) and other Go-no-Go pre-flight data.
• Provides technical guidance and expertise in the scheduling of the flying unit Special Use Airspace (SUA).
• Monitors substantiating personnel listings, independently determines the status of incoming/outgoing Personnel in Change of Station (PCS), Separation/Retirement, and Temporary Duty (TDY) status, and performs a wide-range of aviation management duties.
• Manages aviation resource programs, utilizing Ad-Hoc reports and the Centralized AF ARMS systems; monitors the resources and training requirements for mission accomplishment and safety of flight.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• The phlebotomist provides assistance of technical, specialized, support nature to health and medical personnel in the diagnosis or treatment of patient illnesses or medical conditions.
• Receives requests or instructions for venipuncture (blood drawing) and urine collection.
• Interprets requests or instructions for medical or health care personnel.
• Secures patients' confidence and cooperation during procedures.
• Explains procedures (venipuncture), positions patients for desired results, and cushions and shields patients as appropriate.
• Varies procedure or position to adjust to patients' medical condition.
• Utilizes printed and electronic files containing sensitive information and is responsible for protecting that information from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion.
• Follows applicable regulations and instruction regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc. as set out in a computer access agreement which the employee signs.
• Receives labels and transmits specimens, test results and other records.
• Verifies two identifiers at all times such as patient name, social security numbers, address, date of birth, time of sample, type of test requested.
• Assists medical staff with or performs diagnostic procedures used to diagnose medical conditions.
• During procedures, recognizes abnormalities and informs professional staff of unusual readings or conditions.
• Recognizes emergency situations and takes necessary actions.
• Establishes priorities for emergency orders.
• Performs a range of diagnostic support duties such as taking specimens and labeling specimens for the laboratory.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and universal precautions at all times while drawing blood, collecting/transporting anybody fluid or patient contact.
• Makes gross visual observations and identifies subtle changes regarding the patient's condition.
• Performs routine repetitive diagnostic tests and procedures such as venipuncture for collection of blood specimen, bleeding time and
  timed collections according to written protocol or as directed by the physician or other professional staff.
• Secures the confidence and cooperation of patients during procedures.
• Instructs patients in the proper midstream urine collection, 24-hour urine collection, and collections of specimens for culture and sensitivity.
• Performs simple procedures such as collection of blood samples or other fluid samples from inpatient and ambulatory patients.
• Uses proper sterile techniques for collection of samples.
• Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities to complete lab test collection in a timely manner.
• Communicates in a tactful and courteous manner with a wide variety of individuals with varying levels of understanding.

• You will conduct continuing surveillance of work involving radioactive materials and radiological controls associated with naval nuclear propulsion plant work.
• You will regularly plan and assign work of subordinate staff to meet radiological coverage requirements, schedules, and deadlines.
• You will plan for and coordinate the procurement of special radiation and radioactivity monitoring instruments and equipment.
• You will prepare or direct the preparation, of all reports and other required radiological control documents related to work assignments and staff assigned.

• You will develop and implement quality control procedures and review procedures from other shipyard organizations pertaining to nuclear quality and/or radiological controls.

• You will monitor the work of inspectors, radiological technicians and shop mechanics to ensure conformance with approved procedures/specifications.

• Administer and perform duties related to the execution of a variety of public health programs within the Community Health Management and Force Health Elements.

• Maintain, troubleshoot and service hand and power tools associated with trail maintenance.
