An opportunity has arisen within the Medical Care Group for a Deputy General Manager of Acute Medicine and Older People's services.

We are a large and innovative directorate, delivering same day emergency care, key assessment units, inpatient wards, and care in the community.

The postholder will be expected to work flexibly with the other Deputy General Manager for Acute Medicine and Older People's services, as determined by business need.

As UHD moves to a split between urgent care and planned care over the next 18 months, this postholder will be critical in delivering key changes to the medical pathways to maintain safe and effective patient flow. We need a postholder who can focus on the the day-to-day operational pressures, while also thinking strategically about transformation and service improvement, working flexibly with other internal and external partners to drive forward the right changes for patients and staff.

The post holder will be required to work across all sites within UHD. Discussion regarding the post and secondment opportunities are welcomed.

This role requires First degree or has appropriate level of senior
management experience. Masters’ degree or equivalent relevant
experience to the role or demonstrable equivalent
working experience.

The purpose of this role is to lead the Directorates in ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services that are clinically safe, delivered cost effectively and meet the Trust’s Values, priorities and performance targets.

Role Purpose

Our General Managers are the ultimate leaders, setting the tone and culture within their Brewpubs. You will be an expert at getting the best out of people, able to coach and develop your team to deliver flawless execution and service within a fun and supportive environment.

Food is particularly important at Brewhouse & Kitchen - as such you will be passionate about our dining menu, drinks (particularly craft beer) and outstanding service. You must be confident in managing front of house, a robust kitchen operation and ready to take on the unique element of the microbrewery at B&K. Your operational standards will be of utmost importance, ensuring you trade your Brewpub in a safe, legal and compliant way.

As a General Manager, you will have full ownership of your Brewpub P&L, lead shifts including opening & closing the Brewpub, act as the key contact for the community in your site and be a decision maker who is determined to grow their business and deliver our operational standards “The B&K Way” perfectly.
