As a Detailed Inspector General, GS-1801-12, you will report to the State/JFHQ IG on discipline, efficiency, morale, economy, training, and readiness of the State National Guard. Provides assistance to Soldiers, Airmen, and their family members on a wide range of issues and subjects.

Starting at $89,515 Per Year (GS 12)

As a General Engineer/ Physical Scientist (Nuclear Safety Specialist) you will:

• Lead safety planning, organization, and DOE/NNSA regulatory compliance review.
• Advocate and secure NNSA and M&O commitment to Safety Strategies.
• Resolve emerging operational safety issues preventing long-term facility and program adverse safety impact.
• Manage and review Safety Basis Documents including Major Modification Determinations, Safety Design Strategy, Conceptual Safety Design Report, Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis, Documented Safety Analysis, Technical Safety Requirements, Evaluation of the Safety of the Situation, Justification for Continued Operations, Safety Basis Addendums, and Temporary Changes to the Safety Basis.
• Provide oversight for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and accelerator facilities.
• Collaborate with team participants and stakeholders identifying and resolving issues with potential to impact safe mission operations and controls.
• Provide oversight of the Contractor for Nuclear Safety System Operations.
