We are looking for a general maintenance worker who is ready to join our team! Ideal candidates will have a strong maintenance background, a good mechanical aptitude and are willing to learn new skills!
What you will do:
Work Thursday-Wednesday, 7 days on followed by 7 days off
Hours include 12:00pm-12:00am
Maintain, repair and operate all Gundersen equipment, facilities and properties
Provide great quality service to our patients and staff

Job Description:
The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for the operation, maintenance, fabrication, and modification of the institution's hospital facilities, equipment, and properties.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Completes work assigned by supervisor/manager promptly and in a technically competent manner. Documents work as instructed by supervisor through established methods such as logbooks, work requests, repair tags, and computerized maintenance management system. Consults with supervisor/manager regarding assigned work for which additional direction is required. Assesses and prioritizes assigned work to determine necessary action. Obtains materials necessary to complete each request. As may be required by a specific job assignment, will be required to have the proper training, certification, and/or license as required by law to perform HVAC and refrigeration work.
2. Follows safety guidelines related to body mechanics, lock-out/tag-out, use of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, and other areas as described in applicable policies. Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work environment. Maintains safe operation and condition of equipment. Uses tools and supplies in a safe and cost-effective manner. Responds to all fire and other disaster alarms as indicated in the Emergency Response Manual. Assists other employees as required.
3. Participates in staff meetings and departmental inservice training. Orients new staff to facilities and equipment as assigned by supervisor/manager. Educates customers on appropriate use of facilities and equipment.
4. Works with other departments in the institution, such as Environmental Services, Security, Transportation, and Construction Engineering, to insure efficient coordination and completion of work that requires involvement by other departments.
5. Responsible for driving, which includes driving and operating large commercial trucks and/or vehicles regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Â Employee is responsible for performing appropriate safety inspections, assisting with maintaining vehicles in good repair, and completing applicable driving and maintenance logs. Â The employee will follow all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to driving assigned vehicle and promptly report to leadership or appropriate personnel, any vehicle concerns, traffic violations, citations, or accidents.
