In this Local Hire (Media Relations Specialist) position, you will serve as a FEMA spokesperson to delivery disaster information to media outlets.

Typical assignments include:

• Creating media lists and facilitating contact with media representatives.
• Delivering disaster information including: press releases, fact sheets, background papers, and public service announcements.
• Serving as a FEMA spokesperson for field radio, TV, and print interviews.

This announcement is for a position as a FEMA Local Hire. Local Hire employees help FEMA respond to, recover from and mitigate hazards by performing a variety of emergency management functions which are not limited to disaster survivor assistance, conducting and verifying damage assessments, and providing administrative, financial and logistical support.

Local Hires are Temporary Positions. The Local Hire Program is an appointment type granted under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, Section 306 (b), which authorizes FEMA to appoint such temporary employees as necessary to accomplish work authorized under the Act. Appointments under this authority within FEMA are made to the excepted service and are nonpermanent in nature. A local hire's term of employment is 120 days. Local Hire appointments may be extended, in 120-day increments, based on the needs of the disaster.

Label Makers are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Printing Machinist to join their team in Somerton VIC 3062.

Printing Machinist Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate printing machinery, including offset printing presses, digital printers, or screen printing equipment.
- Load and position the printing plates, adjust the ink supply and paper feed, and set up the printing press for each print job.
- Monitor the printing process to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently, making adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect and examine printed materials for quality and accuracy, ensuring that they meet the client's specifications and requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions that may occur during the printing process, such as paper jams or ink smudges.
- Coordinate with other team members, such as graphic designers and print finishers, to ensure a seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Keep detailed records of print jobs, including quantity produced, materials used, and any issues encountered, for future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in printing technology to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in printing or related field
- Familiarity with digital printing technology and computerized print systems.
- Knowledge of ink mixing, color theory, and paper handling.

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
