Warehouse Operative - Six Months Fixed Term Contract

Overall, Purpose of the Role:
Ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of high quality electronic equipment and goods and products to maintain business operations.

General and Task Management
· Take delivery of goods and supplies
· Packing and dispatching equipment to customers in the UK and to our European subsidiaries and manufacturing plants
· Storing of goods appropriately in our Warehouse
· Moving stock either by hand or using lifting equipment
· Loading goods for dispatch
· Input data regarding stock, delivery notes and shipping labels into a computerised system (SAP)
· Keep accurate stock records
· Carry out stock counts as and when required
· Keep paperwork up to date
· Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
· Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
· Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• Ensure that all stock is refilled correctly into concession stock shelves, such as shoe box shelving.

Requirements:

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and positive attitude towards teamwork and communication.
• Physically fit and capable of handling stock and equipment safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack, and assemble orders to the standards set in the warehouse training program.
• Ensure a high level of accuracy when picking customer orders.
• Maintain efficiency and meet performance criteria for picking.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain safe working practices at all times, and complete any required training.

• Load the van with picked items for daily delivery.
• Coordinate and execute deliveries efficiently, keeping accurate records as required.

• Report any issues with goods or services to the Branch Supervisor promptly.
• Collect accurate payments from customers as instructed by the Branch Supervisor and secure them according to procedure.
• Use route planning and ePod software for deliveries.

Qualifications:

• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to use relevant IT equipment and complete required training and ongoing competency assurance.
• Well-organized, with the ability to plan daily delivery routes.
• Structured and efficient approach to tasks, with a focus on meeting customer ETAs.

Job Overview

As a Storekeeper, you will play a vital role in supporting the Purchasing, Production, and Sales departments. While your main responsibilities are outlined below, additional tasks may arise to meet the evolving needs of the Pumps Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and promptly:

• • • Accept and store received materials and components from suppliers and carriers.
    • Store and retrieve goods from stock locations.
    • Kit works orders, sales orders, and branch orders.
    • Pack and dispatch sales and branch orders per customers' delivery dates and special instructions.
    • Issue shortages and unplanned issues; accept unplanned receipts and returns.
    • Restock 'Assy' parts for Production requests.

Safely operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading materials, components, and finished pumps from suppliers, customers, outside carriers, and fleet vehicles.
Assist in periodic stock-taking exercises.
Ensure all tasks adhere to company Health and Safety policies, minimising risk and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Perform any other tasks as needed to support the company's commercial activities.
Experience/Qualifications:

• Current Forklift Licence (Counterbalance)
• Knowledge of stores practices
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
