About the Role

As a Warehouse Operative at the NHS Supply Chain , you will play a vital role in our healthcare system . Your daily contributions ensure that millions of NHS patients receive the essential medical products they need promptly and accurately.

The primary responsibilities include picking and packing medical consumables, including medical devices and licensed medical products, but there are huge opportunities for progress within the company.

Shifts & Pay Rates:

• Monday to Friday, 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, rotating
• 37.5 hours paid weekly

Candidate Requirements:

• Proficiency in English & numeracy, as reading orders and understanding health and safety guidelines are essential (testing involved)
• A passion for supporting the NHS and the community
• Strong willingness to learn and collaborate effectively within a team to ensure high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety are adhered to
• No prior experience necessary; comprehensive training will be provided

The role is 5 days out of 7 and does include some weekend work. This is a permanent afternoon shift role.

Duties include:

• Picking and packing orders on a LLOP truck using a voice pick system
• This may include some de-kit work (disposal of rubbish returned to us from Coop stores, and disassembling cages)
• Working in the chill chamber of the warehouse (between 2 and 5 degrees)
• Adhering to health and safety regulations

As a warehouse team captain, you will be responsible for achieving daily auditing targets by checking the accuracy of pallets and cages of stock, before they leave the warehouse, to ensure they meet the delivery requests and no errors have been made.

As a Warehouse Planning Manager at our cutting-edge Omega Distribution Centre, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of volume demand throughout the facility, optimising the Distribution Centre’s operations to meet business goals. Located in the Omega Business Park, just off Junction 8 of the M62, this brand-new automated warehouse is a pioneering facility in the UK, set to revolutionise how we handle and distribute goods.

You will work closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager and collaborate with the Production & Performance Manager to analyse data, drive continuous improvement opportunities, and optimise the warehouse's throughput. In this role, you will also engage with the Warehouse Management and Network Planning Teams to ensure that volume and resource plans align with operational needs.

• Volume Flow Planning: Effectively plan and manage the flow of product volumes in and out of the Distribution Centre, ensuring smooth operations and maximised throughput. • Temporary Labour Management: Oversee the management of temporary labour through agency partners, ensuring that they perform in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Product Flow Optimisation: Engage with WITRON and other key automation partners to continuously improve product flow through the automated systems.

• Extensive experience in planning and managing volume flows and resources within a high-volume, fast paced warehouse or distribution centre environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations, with a focus on automation systems and volume planning.
• Experience managing large teams and cross functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to identify operational challenges and implement data driven improvements.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in labour scheduling systems (e.g. UKG Dimensions/Kronos) is desirable.
