In this role you will deliver a quality, effective, Business Assurance service across the Customer Service Directorate. You will monitor the delivery of the Mechanical and Electrical Systems function including the management of relevant contracts, ensuring full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including the implementation of an effective risk management approach to compliance within the Group.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

• In depth knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems within Social Housing, including government and industry guidance, British standards and building regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations Guidance Note 3 and The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering effective servicing and maintenance contracts to a large and diverse portfolio of mix tenure properties.

You will carry out Building Safety inspections to identify and respond to defects, prioritising and ensuring actions are undertaken in a timely manner by removing hazards and ensuring any installed equipment is operational to ensure people are safe and the building is working effectively. To defend any liability claims relating to the communal areas and to provide a due diligent defence against a claim for breach of a statutory or regulatory requirement or defend an allegation for serious detriment.

About you

• Proven track record of monitoring risk and health and safety compliance and carrying out inspections within a housing environment.
• Knowledge of asbestos, legionella, building regulations, fire regulations, health and safety regulations and carrying out risk assessments within a housing environment.
