Tasmanian Quality Meats is seeking Skilled Meat Workers to join our team at our Cressy Plant. These positions will be on a permanent, full time basis, 38 hours a week. Applicants must have experience in knife handling and skillsets to suit a variety of slaughtering and lamb boning tasks across our business.
Responsibilities
Eviscerates and trims animal carcasses;
Prepare animal carcasses for further processing by removing internal organs and hides;
Cuts meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones;
Trimming and preparing animal carcasses for the boning room;
Operate switching controls to direct and drop carcasses and meat cuts from supply rails to boning tables;
Operates restrainer and stunning equipment
Stuns and kills livestock;
Slaughter according to religious customs.
Criteria
Good communication and positive teamwork
Ability to work in a cold environment
2 years experience, a minimum
Great attendance, reliability to work
Excellent knife skills and knife handling
Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test.
Transport to and from work preferred.
We have several positions available throughout our production facility, and the remuneration for these roles will be between $60,000 - $70,000 per annum. We are looking for candidates for immediate starts.
