My client an established manufacturing and sub-contract services company are currently looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to take responsibility for ensuring delivery and maintenance of the company's QHSE Management System, associated documentation and overall quality of products to meet customer requirements.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours a week over a 4 day week (Monday to Thursday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verification / Validation all product specifications have been met during the product manufacturing process
• Processing customer concerns through the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR / 8D) process to completion
• Identification, Investigation and disposition of non-conforming material through the Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) process
• Participate in supplier QBRs with the production of supporting Quality data to aid the monitoring & measurement of supply chain
• Monitor Supplier performance in relation to non-conforming product with regular internal / external communications, reviews and follow-up
• Support and advise on product queries
• Perform Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) as required
• Reporting of QHSE Metrics / KPI's
• Assist in the production of System Management documentation and reviews
• Support NPI, product development and 'first off' process approval
• Carry out internal process and system audits with action follow-up and progression to closure (ISO9001 / ISO130485 / ISO45001 / ISO14001)
• Calibration management / control, inc. liaising with external providers
• Assist in the implementation of process improvement activities
• Liaise with various stakeholders regarding the processing, evaluation and reporting of customer returns.

Key Qualification / Experience Requirements:

• Hold a relevant HNC or equivalent level qualification in an Engineering/Quality related subject
• Excellent knowledge and awareness of Quality Management Systems
• Ability to carry out Root Cause Analysis, identify corrective and preventative measures and monitor effectiveness
• Ability to conduct audits on Business systems and processes to meet ISO standards
• Ability to prepare, analyse and report quality statistics internally and externally at all levels
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• An understanding of quality improvement programmes and IPC electronic assembly knowledge would be advantageous
• Strong understanding and knowledge of MRP systems

Your role:



A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team at Scott Pallets.



As an experienced Quality Manager, the key objectives for this role will be to ensure compliant products are being manufactured to
the required customer standards, and to effectively manage the quality system in line with Group policies and the accredited
standards. The role will also involve the management and maintenance of appropriate industry certification and accreditation
requirements.



In this role, you will lead the continual development of the Quality culture across the business, to achieve customer satisfaction
and minimize business disruption. This will involve leading a continuous improvement culture targeting the identification,
implementation and rectification of all correct preventative actions across the business.



The suitable candidate for this role will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of leading and championing Quality practices and
procedures within a multi-site manufacturing operation. Ideally, you will either be working towards becoming a qualified
membership or already be a member of a recognised Quality professional body. Due to the nature of this role, travel across the UK
will be required.



To be successful in this role, you will need to be a practical person who is willing to be hands on to help promote and lead
change within the company. As an individual, you will be an excellent communicator who will be able to liaise with customers and
staff across the business.






Key Role Objectives:




Quality Leadership

* Ensuring that an effective Quality Management System is established, implemented and maintained at all levels.
* Co-ordinate all processes to conform to the company’s Quality System
* Site champion to ensure product Quality conforms to the Customer Requirements
* Monitor all internal non-conformances and drive through route cause analysis and install the appropriate control plans to
prevent re-occurrence
* Providing an independent channel of communication on quality matters, initiating necessary action to resolve deficiencies and
ensuring satisfactory solutions have been achieved.
* Ensuring Audits are undertaken in accordance with the Audit Schedule and that any adverse findings, including those raised by
others, are closed out in a timely manner.
* Reviewing Non-conformance reports to identify any apparent trends and providing timely reports on NCR status and trends to the
Project Manager and the company Quality Manager
* Ensure a structured problem-solving approach is applied to countermeasure activities and prevent re-occurrence.



General

* Drive a performance culture, through the entire site to achieve all associated KPI’s, development of corrective actions and
training programmes
* Drive a “can do” attitude through problem resolution
* Collate and analyses performance metrics, submit plant and Group reports
* Undertake any reasonable management requests
