SALARY: $90,895.00 - $145,365.00 Annually
CLASS DESCRIPTION
The Environmental Control Board (ECB) seeks qualified applicants for the Deputy Director position. The incumbent will support the agency by assisting in the management of the hearing and appeals process, creating, and implementing agency-wide policies, coordinating with other agencies and interested stakeholders, and supervising staff and contractual employees. This is a non-civil service position and will report to the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist the Executive Director in strategic planning of the agency's programs, projects, and policy implementations.Â
- Write appeal decisions for the Board and provide oversight roles in all the legal processes.
- Provide support to the agency's daily operations, including budgets, compliance, and oversight role of the administrative hearing process and preparation of appeals for Board's review.
- Work collaboratively with the stakeholders in coordinating the BMORE Beautiful program and other City beautification initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, community associations, and business groups.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have experience in professional-level administrative, operations, or technical work. Legal background and previous experience in public hearing and appeal process, and contract management.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS
An active bar license – candidate must be an attorney.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability able to prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, articles and other materials.
- Ability to speak and testify efficiently before governmental and legal bodies and commissions, interpret and apply a variety of laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
