The role

We are looking for a Sales Compliance Consultants to deliver the VWFS (Volkswagen Financial Services) Sales Compliance strategy to ensure VWFS meet our regulatory oversight requirements relating to how our products and services are sold.

This is achieved through robust and consistent observations of distributor performance, including data capture, due diligence and analysis, consultative guidance and risk escalations. This role is also instrumental in developing VWFS's field-based teams to have an awareness of all things regulatory whilst delivering Sales' MBOs (Management by Objectives). This is essential in ensuring VWFS can demonstrate we are taking reasonable steps to ensure the business process is controlled effectively, that it complies with the relevant requirements and standards of the regulatory system and has sufficient oversight of distributors to enable targeted risk mitigation (where and when required) and management of good customer outcomes in line with Consumer Duty.

What you will be responsible for…

• Deliver and deploy first line of defence tactics across all VWFS sales channels to meet the strategic direction and objectives of the Sales Department and the wider business
• Maintain a sound understanding of key regulatory obligations applicable to the motor finance industry to ensure you operate in the spirit of treating customers fairly, including development activity to deliver good customer outcomes
• Manage, and suitably evidence, all aspects of our Retailer Risk Review process to identify and challenge sales practices that do not fit with the spirit of regulatory principles. This includes deployment and evaluation of Retailer Risk Self-Assessments, undertaking appropriate tests to validate effectiveness of the retailer network's relevant controls and implementing effective action plans to mitigate all identified risks and address any conflict with regulator guidelines or VWFS principles or Good Customer Outcomes (GCO) aspirations

Risk Control Manager - Operational Resilience

The Risk Control team provides a central service to the VWFS UK organisation. It forms a key part in developing a positive approach to risk management within the Company's business strategy ensuring consistent standards are adopted

Our primary objectives are:

• To design and provide a framework which enables effective risk oversight for VWFS UK
• To ensure that the operational risks and controls which exist within the business are identified, managed, monitored and reported on
• To provide advice and guidance to the business on all matters relating to operational risk
• This role has an additional specific focus on delivering Operational Resilience requirements across the business.

As the Risk Control Manager, Operational Resilience you will be the primary interface between Risk Control (2nd Line of Defence) and VWFS UK. You'll report into our Risk Control General Manager

This is what your day might look like:

• The primary focus for this role is to lead the strategic implementation of FCA Operational Resilience requirements across VWFS UK. This includes developing the Operational Resilience Policy and Framework, supporting tools, methodologies, monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• You'll design, establish, embed and maintain a risk aware culture across VWFS UK encompassing key risk disciplines i.e. Operational Risk, Business Continuity and Financial Crime
• Own the risk training and education programme for VWFS UK ensuring relevant, appropriate and timely risk education material is available to support the ongoing development of employees risk awareness
• Develop a strategy for aligning and embedding the current disparate risk frameworks in operation by developing and establishing common tools and process which will facilitate the identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks within the organisation across the key risk disciplines
• You will build and maintain risk profiles for VWFS UK that measure the business' adherence to a defined risk appetite through the development and use of effective Key Risk Indicators
• Promote the operating principles of the three lines of defence model throughout the company-wide risk management activities
• Deliver the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework through; managing ERM policies, standards and procedures, adapting tools and techniques to meet ongoing changes in risk appetite and business needs
• You'll oversee operation of the ERC (Enterprise Risk Committee), including preparation of committee packs and associated papers
• Ensure that all risk frameworks are compatible with the ERM framework and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the wider Risk Management team up to the Board of Management level to achieve the highest level of risk reporting quality through input to the design and being responsible for the production of accurate, appropriate and timely risk reporting for the material risk committees
• You will oversee the development and implementation of a framework to ensure all Risk compliance procedures are reviewed and compliant with I-OHB requirements, effectively using and integrating and maintaining HQ systems and process requirements and other risk management frameworks to support the business in recognising key risks
• Work with VWFS UK business areas to cultivate and maintain key relationships to enable the provision of proportionate and appropriate advice and education on risk issues to maintain effective mitigation and control measures
• You'll take a lead role in delivering assigned audit findings
• Collaborate with the team of risk professionals to ensure the delivery of the risk strategy by implementing and maintaining fit for purpose Risk Control Frameworks and Risk Reporting structures

The role

We are looking for a field based Sales Compliance Consultant - Fixed term contract to deliver the VWFS Sales compliance strategy to meet our regulatory oversight requirements to manage how our products and services are sold. This is achieved through robust and consistent observations, data capture, analysis, guidance and risk escalations. This role will instrumental in developing the field based teams' to have an awareness of all things regulatory and deliver sales MBOs to meet good customer outcomes.

What you will be responsible for…

• Deliver and deploy first line of defence tactics across all VWFS sales channels to meet the strategic direction and objectives of Sales Department and the wider business.
• Manage and suitably evidence all aspects of our Retailer Risk Review process to identify and challenge sales practices that do not fit with the spirit of regulatory principles. This includes deployment and evaluation of retailer risk self-assessments, undertaking appropriate tests to validate effectiveness of retailers relevant controls and implementing effective action plans to mitigate all identified risks and address any conflict with regulator guidelines or VWFS principles or Good Customer Outcomes (GCO) aspirations
• Manage and complete all on-boarding and compliance monitoring checks for all new accounts - including all future 3rd parties (Heycar, brokers, etc.), required to sell VWFS products and services to ensure suitability and permissions to do so.
• Successfully manage network risk escalations by conducting deep-dive retailer analysis and audits of those identified as 'at risk', including implementation of remedial activities, subsequent tracking of those activities and escalations to appropriate stakeholder / committee where non-adherence identified
• Confirm and prepare updates for sales Quarterly Dealer Performance Reviews (QDPR) and subsequent monthly Sales Management Meetings to inform Sales management board on progress made with 'at risk' retailers
• Monthly management of GCO reporting to identify trends and 'at risk' retailers that may indicate poor customer outcomes or mis-selling of our products - advising stakeholders, prioritising retailer visits and managing related Sales Development Manager (SDM) activities accordingly.
• Manage any network audit and exploratory assignments requested through wider VWFS business in relation to perceived risk or regulator request - fully and effectively reporting all findings and follow-up activity to satisfy all requirements
• Maintain a sound understanding of key regulatory obligations applicable to the motor finance industry to ensure you operate in the spirit of treating customers fairly including development activity in order to deliver good customer outcomes
• Present clear and concise commercial recommendations to senior internal and external stakeholders on required management oversight activities to effectively mitigate consumer and regulatory risks associated with the sale of VWFS products & services
• Provide ongoing market intelligence to Sales Training and wider sales teams on current and future compliance and GCO risks and opportunities - developing and implementing effective and compliant "best practice" initiatives across the VWFS sales teams, wider business and network partners.
• Assist development of Field team knowledge, awareness and application of regulatory needs and requirements.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key risk and compliance related stakeholders and act in the interests of the wider VW group of companies in order to gain support to implement identified development actions
