The role: Effectively manage a portfolio of homes to provide an up-to-date view of quality and identify risks to Care UK.



Key Responsibilities:


To monitor and analyse information and data from the home to understand and mitigate emerging risk, escalating concerns as appropriate.
To undertake regulatory assessments in line with regulators
To support Care UK and operational colleagues with understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
To provide coaching to operational teams
To work with homes to achieve high standards of assessments, external inspections or complex safeguarding.
To undertake safeguarding and serious case review investigations as required by Head of Regulatory Governance.
To keep updated regarding developments in the Health and Social Care sector regarding regulation and compliance.
To lead on compliance and quality improvement activities required to ensure business objectives are met.
To conduct coaching and training to care home colleagues and wider Care UKas required.




What We're Looking For:


Detailed knowledge and application of relevant legislation and regulatory framework.
Experience of working in a senior regulatory or quality role.
Knowledge of the care sector in particular care home-based services.
Sound understanding of quality improvement & governance.
Willing to travel regularly to our homes

My client is currently looking for an experienced Compliance Coordinator to join their team in Loughton on a temporary basis (3 months). You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing PPM's.
• Assigning tasks to responsible people.
• Ensuring tasks are closed to PPM scheduled dates.
• Ensuring paperwork is attached to Concept and available for review. Also ensuring that all notes are updated on Concept.
• Ensuring all remedial work is quoted, reviewed, approved and managed to conclusion within KPI's.
• Ensuring all required work follows company standards and principals, with all required paperwork filed on SharePoint for ease.
• Ensuring all communication is sent to relevant parties.
• Support CM with quotations and approval.
• Support FM with all SHE requirements including permit and document management.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have experience working in a similar role within a facilities' management background. You will be able to demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel. You will be able to prioritise your workload, have excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skills. You will be able to travel to London and Cardiff as and when required by the contract (costs to be reimbursed by the company).
Experience in compliance is ESSENTIAL.

As Portfolio Risk and Assurance Manager, you'll play a critical role in the effective management of risk across Technology Digital and Data change landscape and Service Operations. This includes the identification, quantification and analysis of risk trends and overall risk exposure alongside the value driven mitigation of these risks and planning and implementation of contingencies as appropriate.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

What do I need?

- Experience of working within a Portfolio Management Office would be beneficial with a good working knowledge of key Service and change delivery processes, including status reporting, assurance and audit, budgeting and estimating, risk and issue management, quality gates and change management.

- Qualified to Practitioner Level in an industry recognised Risk Management Methodology.

- Be familiar with structured project management methodologies and a good understanding of the end-to-end project delivery lifecycle, in particular Agile delivery.

- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Accountabilities

The purpose of this role is to process Building Regulation applications throughout the Braintree District and enforce Building Regulations meeting the Council's statutory obligations. Duties are inclusive but not limited to:

• Review plans, drawings, and documents for compliance with building regulations.
• Conduct site inspections and testing to ensure adherence to building regulations.
• Communicate with stakeholders, including applicants, public, construction professionals, and statutory bodies.
• Advise customers on regulatory compliance and handle demolitions and dangerous structures, including out-of-hours inspections.
• Promote the Building Control Service, ensure adherence to safety policies, support health and safety reporting, and represent the Council at relevant committees.

The Experience You Will Bring

Skillset: Membership of a professional body (RICS or CABE) or level four of the LABC Competency Framework, with proven relevant building control experience and qualifications, such as HNC/Diploma in Building or a degree in Building Control Studies/Building Surveying. Good working knowledge and experience of building control, including plan examinations, site inspections, and handling dangerous structures and demolitions. Should have achieved Class 2/3 Competency with the Building Safety Regulator.

Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of Building Regulations and legislation, building experience in a practical, technical or professional capacity, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage caseload, work independently or as part of a team, influence and negotiate with diplomacy. Proficient in IT, able to conduct structural appraisals of submitted designs, interpret technical drawings and maps, providing clear and accurate advice. Willing to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, with a valid driving license and access to a car for travel across the district.

Communication: Using a range of communication methods-written, spoken, and electronic-tailored to context, including report and letter writing covering complex issues, ensuring clarity, mutual understanding, and consideration of diverse needs and equality issues.

• Manage a caseload of building control duties to agreed targets.
• Examine plans and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
• Liaise with applicants, the public, construction professionals, and statutory bodies on building control matters.
• Provide advice to customers on regulatory compliance and handle demolitions and dangerous structures.
• Promote and market the Building Control Service locally and provide quotes and manage payments for services.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, represent the Council at relevant committees, and support team development.

The Experience You Will Bring

Skillset: A member of either Chartered Association of Building Engineers (MCABE) or Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) Building and 5 years post qualification experience; or level five of the LABC Competency Framework. Have achieved Class 3 or 4 Competency with the Building Safety Regulator. Have a valid driving licence with access to a car for travel throughout the district.

Knowledge: Possess extensive knowledge of Building Control and associated issues (construction, regulations and legislation), excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to work independently, support team development, and make informed decisions. Demonstrate a commitment to service improvement, flexibility, and effective influence and negotiation.

Experience: In completing technical tasks to a high standard and achieving targets; in decision making covering complex and varied Building Control issues; in dealing with dangerous structures and demolitions; in writing and presenting reports and letters on complex issues.
