The incumbent will be a Nurse III Patient Safety Specialist in the Office of the Functional Champion (OFC), providing dedicated support to VA's Electronic Health Record Modernization - Integration Office (EHRM-IO), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). EHRM-IO is responsible for ensuring that VA successfully prepares for, deploys, and transitions to, a new electronic health record (EHR) system. EHRM-IO will ensure the modernized EHR system is positioned to meet VA needs, and enable seamless delivery of healthcare to Veterans and qualified beneficiaries.

The Patient Safety Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. He/she will have a significant role on behalf of OFC in patient safety planning and will continue to support these activities as the program matures. The incumbent works closely with the patient safety leadership team. Ultimately, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring a safe optimization of the modernized EHR. This position will work with Contractors, the Office of the ADUSH for Quality, Safety, and Value, and other partners to:

• Evaluate and review the EHR implementation safety processes and confer with leadership to evaluate and initiate changes.
• Will be familiar with all aspects of the Patient Safety Program including reporting, analyzing data, creating reports, education, policy changes, and promoting a culture of safety for Veterans.

• Establish methods to monitor the patient safety management process and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Collaborate with EHRM-IO leadership and safety partners to assess and improve systems of care delivery

• Proactively engage and identify Serious Safety Events (SSEs) utilizing a standardized classification system and facilitate investigation and action plan development in response to SSEs.

• Review, report, data trend, and track patient safety related events and near miss events, risks and issues

• Facilitates Root Cause Analyses for SSEs across the health system and helps lead the organization in adopting and embracing a culture of high reliability and safety.

This position can be filled within any of the current TIGTA offices throughout the country and is NOT a remote position.

As a Visual Information Specialist, you will:

• Use the available desktop publishing technology and equipment in the development and production of design for reports, publications, or other visual presentations.
• Design and produce graphics for electronic and print publications and visual presentations or equivalent.
• Take project concepts through its various stages of development, from preliminary rough layouts, through comprehensive layouts for client approval and on through final art.
• Develop interpretations of information, original ideas and concepts using illustrative materials.

This position can be filled within any of the current TIGTA offices throughout the country and is NOT a remote position.

• Examples of duties include planning the examination, establishing the scope of review, supervising team members, holding meetings with management and officials, identifying violations, developing conclusions and corrective actions, evaluating compliance management systems (CMS), and writing reports using NCUA's National Supervisory Policy Manual (NSPM), its Federal Consumer Financial Protection Guide, and other relevant manuals or guidance.
• Serve as a technical expert to internal and external stakeholders on federal consumer financial protection laws and regulations.
• Conduct and participate in meetings with credit union boards of directors, senior management, and officials to explain violations and deficiencies, findings, recommendations and obtain agreements to implement corrective actions.
• Assist with developing and refining federal consumer financial protection examination policies, programs, procedures, and other consumer financial protection related materials on a regional and national level.

Work typically impacts the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft as well as the efficient operation of segments of the aviation industry.

Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout area(s) of responsibility.

Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective air traffic control service, and may work other than administrative shifts to meet this requirement. Using measures of organizational performance, continuously reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs, adds value to facility services, and are efficiently achieved.

Assigns and reviews work. Plans work and sets priorities and schedules. Approves leave; prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities; evaluates work performance of subordinates ensuring equity of performance standards and ratings; gives advice on work and on administrative matters; Identifies and arranges for developmental and other training needs of subordinates. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates; hears and resolves group grievances and serious employee complaints; effects disciplinary actions; recommends/approves selections and transfers; recommends/approves awards. Deals with labor representatives concerning workforce issues. Adjusts staffing levels and work procedures to accommodate resource decisions made at higher levels. Provides input to and contributes to the accomplishment of facility goals and objectives. Serves as a member of the management team to improve organizational performance and to meet strategic goals.

The Operations Manager reports to the Air Traffic Manager. Performance is evaluated upon the effectiveness with which assigned program objectives are achieved.

Supervises a staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists that is responsible for carrying out air traffic control assignments within a geographic area.

Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate employees. Sets work priorities and schedules. Approves leave; gives advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Evaluates performance of employees and recommends performance ratings. Hears and resolves complaints from employees and refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level manager. Identifies and arranges for developmental and other training needs of employees. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Adjusts staffing levels and work procedures to accommodate resource decisions made at higher levels. Recommends goals and objectives for the area and tracks accomplishments.
