Quality Assurance & Monitoring Plan and co-ordinate Assessment and Accreditation reviews of all nursing/midwifery clinical areas, focusing on professional standards, safety, and quality in line with national and local, Trust standards. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the standards related to Care Quality Commissions (CQC) regulatory frameworks are met throughout the Trust and that this is supported by appropriate evidence. Incorporate best practice as advised from national and local evidence. Working across the Trust conduct audits and observations of performance against nursing KPIs. Assessing areas using highly developed specialist knowledge about Assessment and Accreditation and knowledge of clinical areas, identifying, and drawing to the attention of the Quality Assurance Lead Nurse and Associate Directors of Nursing /Midwifery, areas of good practice and areas requiring intervention. Participate in the planning, implementation, and review of the programme of inspection. liaising with stakeholders across the organisation. Lead on promoting clinical engagement in achieving Nursing and Midwifery Excellence in Assessment and Accreditation and Pathway to Excellence re-designation. Identify and escalate as appropriate key risks relating to nursing/midwifery care delivery. Produce and deliver reports at Trust and Nursing & Midwifery & AHP Board level. Build respectful and professional links with clinical staff at all levels. Ensure that the NMC standards are implemented and embedded in nursing and midwifery practice through effective communication skills Leadership Act as a role model, leading by example with drive and enthusiasm, responding appropriately to standards of performance, behaviour, and practice and constructively challenging practices as necessary in line with the Trusts Nursing & Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Strategy. Able to demonstrate successful communication and an ability to influence people, by challenging behaviours and practice, sometimes in challenging situations, using excellent negotiation and persuasion skills. Demonstrate analytical and judgmental skills in working alongside clinical staff to assess issues that may arise and identify strategies to determine the best course of action Contribute to the development and implement actions required in relation to escalation processes to ensure the quality of nursing/midwifery is maintained and that supportive action is taken as and when required. Plans, implements, and reviews the programme of inspection across N&M within the Trust Work in partnership with the senior leadership to ensure the Nursing & Midwifery and Allied Healthcare Professional Strategy objectives are achieved. Work in partnership with Multi- Disciplinary Team across the Trust. Contribute to the turnaround of a ward/clinical area providing professional advice and support to achieve performance improvement if required. Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines as required Share good practice and innovation with colleagues internally and externally Demonstrate an ability to work in busy clinical environments with high level of concentration when undertaking assessments. Ability to demonstrate an objective approach to carrying our formal assessments in clinical areas and delivering feedback to ward managers, matrons, and clinical teams Research, Development & Education Responsibilities Identify training and development needs of Nursing and Midwifery clinical teams and plan, deliver, and evaluate training to enable staff to fulfil requirements of the Assessment and Accreditation standards. Maintain and promote an awareness of evidence-based practice and participate in its implementation. Contribute to audit, research, and development programmes across the Trust, regionally and nationally. Evidence of mentorship qualification and experience of teaching to groups of staff and able to plan and deliver teaching sessions around the Assessment and Accreditation programme to a range of clinical and non-clinical staff Actively participate in service evaluation and audit of clinical practice to ensure effective delivery of the Assessment and Accreditation Programme Professional Responsibilities Be responsible for own professional development, maintain a professional portfolio and keep up to date on current nursing/midwifery and health service issues. Able to manage own time effectively and work independently Policy and Service Development Responsibilities Work within the confines of Trust policies, protocols, and other relevant documentation, taking appropriate action where compliance is breached. Contribute to the Trust Quality Improvement priorities and N&M and AHP strategy Ensure A&A standards are evidenced based Governance Actively promote evidence -based practice within the clinical area. Lead on audit initiatives Participate in setting and reviewing standards for practice and evaluating outcomes Report incidences using the Trust Datix reporting system General Responsibilities Be a national voice and ambassador for Assessment and Accreditation, proactively seeking networking opportunities both nationally and internationally Regularly network with other Trusts who are pursuing/ have embedded Assessment and Accreditation programmes Liaising with subject matter experts from within and outside of the Trust as one of the Trusts points of contact Convey and present information, written or verbal, formally or informally, as appropriate produce quarterly reports for the nursing and midwifery board regarding Assessment and Accreditation activity Maintain records and the IT shared drive to demonstrate progress of the Assessment and Accreditation Programme Administrate social media platforms and messaging platforms for Assessment and Accreditation and Professional Learning Communities for, ward managers and their deputies. Work within the confines of Trust policies etc, taking appropriate action where compliance is breached. Able to work independently and manage own time efficiently Takes responsibility to ensure that Professional Registration is up to date at all times and does not lapse or expire and to inform line management immediately with any concerns of if registration lapses or expires (all registered staff). This post involves treatment to children and/or adults at risk, as defined by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). It will therefore be necessary for the post holder to apply for and be in receipt of a satisfactoryEnhanced DBS check. The Trust requires all new starters to subscribe to the DBS update service, where it is a requirement of the role. Be responsible for maintaining own vaccinations that are applicable to the role.
