Internal Sales Representative - Steel Stockholding - West Midlands - up to £30k + Commission

My client is an independent steel stockholder and processor, supplying customers across the UK and Ireland. They are actively seeking to recruit an experienced and proven Sales Representative from within the Steel Stockholding industry.

The overall purpose of the role is to meet or exceed sales objectives of assigned territory by promoting the company’s products through professional sales techniques, product service, and long-term customer relationships.

As a proactive Sales Representative reporting to the Managing Director, you will generate new business, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain a strong order book and sales pipeline. You will seek sales opportunities and business growth in your region and manage customer accounts.

Role Responsibilities: -
· Plan and achieve regional sales goals in line with business objectives.
· Grow sales/revenue in your region through effective networking and social media presence.
· Optimise pricing strategies to increase customer value.
· Collaborate with Marketing to implement our marketing strategy.
· Monitor and report on regional sales performance.
· Evaluate regional market trends and identify new growth opportunities.
· Handle and resolve problems and complaints including credit issues.
· Recommend new services/products and sales techniques to enhance customer satisfaction.
· Maximise percent of time in front of customers.
· Call on accounts in clusters.

Person Specification: -
· Knowledgeable about steel products and relevant markets.
· Familiar with marketing concepts and practices.
· Skilled in measuring and analysing key performance indicators.
· Proficient in IT and experience using CRM systems.
· Aware of our production processes.
· Able to read and produce reports and market analysis.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
· Team player with a positive attitude.
· Self-organisation.
· Willing to travel.
· Versed in business social media channels.
· A-Level education or equivalent.
· Self-starter.
· Sense of urgency.

As an Internal Sales Person, you will provide excellent customer service to our key customers over the phone, face to face in branch or via email to drive customer loyalty.

You’ll manage a live portfolio of current customers whilst proactively targeting and developing new customers into profitable accounts. Our Internal Sales Persons will be the first point of call for key accounts clients. You will need to understand individual client requirements, build rapport & grow your client portfolio.

We are looking for sales minded people, who enjoy talking to clients, love to use probing questions to understand the full picture, and are organised to ensure weekly/monthly & bi/monthly touch points are scheduled in.

You may also support the wider branch team, serving on the Trade Counter and picking and packing products in our warehouse to ensure customers’ orders are completed on time.

Internal Sales Person – Experience & Attributes:

- Must have a Full Valid UK Driving Licence
- Experience of working in a highly competitive or Target driven customer focused role (B2B, B2C, retail/hospitality)
- Electrical Product Knowledge is advantageous
- A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure
- An ability to recognise sales opportunities
