What a Data Science Intern, Visa Consulting & Analytics does at Visa:
The incumbent will be part of VCA geographic team cluster of Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia (IPVMC) markets, and will be responsible for advisory engagements with Visa's clients in this cluster. These are highly diversified geographies with clients at different levels of progress. You will be challenged to stretch your thinking and innovation is always an edge to the work that we do.
The Intern will work on exciting client engagements as part of a team as well as take responsibility on key portions of new client engagements. Together with experienced data scientists and consultants, the Intern will contribute ideas, opinions, and new information, perform complex data analytics and/or data modeling, work on client engagement proposals and complete project contracts.
As an example, you might join the Data Science team to bring to life data analytic solutions and machine learning models to ensure clients find value to take action such as running cross-sell / up-sell campaigns to drive card acquisition and usage, changing policies or processes, opening new channels, among other things. You might also join the Consultant team to work with an issuer client to assess opportunities across cardholder lifecycle, conduct gap assessment and determine strategy or provide best practice recommendation to the Bank.
The Intern will have an opportunity to understand and analyze Visa’s card transactional data, our ‘secret sauce’ to conduct benchmarking, identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities. The Intern will also benefit from VCA’s global scale and capability (e.g., access to VCA Knowledge Exchange - our repository of global projects, Global VCA virtual trainings, and trainings via VCA college on Visa University etc.).
We value collaboration highly in VCA. The role involves not only collaborating and learning from our top data scientists and consultants but also driving collaboration across others functions such as Risk, Products, Marketing while engaging with clients. In addition, you will get exposure to one of the fastest growing clusters with unique payment trajectory growth, gain in depth understanding on the market’s payment landscape, the people, and the working culture.
