Given the scale and importance of the research, a key objective of this post will be to coordinate the efforts of the different locations and stakeholders involved to help engage the maximum number of potential participants and smoothly deliver essential study tasks. The post holder should also have the ability to directly help with study delivery where this is beneficial, for instance in recruiting participants to the research study through liaison with clinical teams. This will involve discussing the trial with potential participants and assisting in obtaining valid informed consent to take part. The research assistant would be able to collect trial data through standardised assessment measures completed with participants. They will also be able to maintain the trial database; ensuring entries are complete, accurate and up-to-date. The research assistant will assist in maintaining trial records in accordance with the protocol and the principles of Good Clinical Practice. Internal applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
