Job Title: Pathology Research Assistant Practitioner Grade:Band 4 Trust: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Location: James Cook University Hospital, Marton Road, Middlesbrough TS4 3BW Ward/Dept: Pathology Clinical Trials Hours: 9am - 5pm or 10am-6pm Thursdays and Fridays (potentially Wednesday) South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking organised and motivated candidates to fulfil Research Technician opportunities within the trust on long term placement contracts. Role Details: The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the sample processing and management of all Histology trial samples with support from Healthcare Science Support Workers To act as a first point of contact for patients and clinical staff and dealing with correspondence in a courteous and timely manner. The post holder will be accountable for their own daily workload, which regularly requires concentration in an environment of repeated interruptions. Participate in change management projects associated with this role as and when required to support service improvement and development. Use Q-Pulse to plan, conduct and report quality audits within pathology Undertake all duties and responsibilities, at all times, in compliance with the Trusts Policies and Procedures. Undertake any internal and external training as identified by the Trust staff development review (SDR) process including keeping up to date with all departmental mandatory training. The Successful Candidate Will: Knowledge and understanding of healthcare or research environment NVQ3 in scientific/healthcare discipline with relevant experience of working within a research environment Or Foundation Degree in a relevant subject Experience in managing complex information Willingness to work when required across sites within the TVRA and attend conferences/training events outside the region About the Trust: Access to good NHS services is vitally important to more than 1.5 million patients, carers and families across the Tees Valley, North Yorkshire and beyond who depend and rely on them.
