The University strategy is to increase externally funded research and knowledge exchange activity and all of this activity requires contracts and legal advice to support it.
Your new role
You will act as lead legal expert in the University on research and knowledge exchange contracts, providing expert and pragmatic legal advice and guidance to senior management across the University.
This is an exciting new opportunity to work in a cross-University role to design, lead and deliver legal support for research and knowledge exchange. You will work collaboratively with the legal team and stakeholders across the University.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a solicitor or barrister qualified to practice in England with sufficient experience in the jurisdiction to supervise others. You will have knowledge and experience of providing legal advice on contracts and related risks as well as being able to draft high quality contracts.

Benefits
- Salary range between £64,914 and £79,831, offer depends on experience.
- 30 days holidays+ bank holidays+ Christmas Closure period+ parental leave policy
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working pattern (minimum 2 days in the office per week)
- Entitled to membership of Local Government Pension Scheme (employer contribution currently 18% of your pensionable pay)
