An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical research nurse to join the Academic Vascular Surgical Unit (AVSU), based at Hull University Teaching Hospitals. The main aim of this post is to facilitate and support recruitment to a growing research portfolio of both academic and commercial studies. The post is for 12 months. Working closely within a team of nurses and other researchers, the job will involve coordinating and supporting a number of studies. Trial-specific training will be given. We are currently looking to appoint a new SEN Science Teacher and join our amazing team at our unique outdoor setting to students aged 11-19 in our growing Warwickshire setting based in Southam on a full time, permanent basis.

We're looking for a passionate individual with experience of helping to develop a child in line with targets from their academic and pastoral plans. The successful candidate will be delivering group sessions at a base specifically crafted for a small group of students. This "homely" feeling enables us to nurture our students and provide them with the best education experience once we've successfully engaged with them emotionally. The integrated Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service within department of Gastroenterology is offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to contribute to join a team of two IBD research nurses, two IBD clinical trials managers and three IBD research fellows to further develop research in the IBD service. This will include participation in a number of clinical research projects requiring expertise (with suitable training provided if needed) in multiple aspects of research, ranging from patient visits in outpatients, endoscopy and ward environments to computer-office-based work.



The post will be within the Gastroenterology department based at the Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospitals, but the work will sometimes require travel to other partner organisations of the NHS Humber Health Partnership such as the other hospital sites in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole, primary care settings and other Trusts in the Yorkshire region. You would be expected to undertake a period of orientation undertaking competencies in relation to clinical practice in IBD clinical research. Prior research experience and exposure to gastrointestinal problems are desirable but not essential as appropriate training and mentorship will be provided.



The post holder will have continuing responsibility for assessing and meeting the needs of patients and their carers in relation to their involvement in research trials. You will ensure that participants are advised on all aspects of their involvement in research trials, including screening, identification, informed consent, data confidentiality and protection, clinical management, drug administration and maintaining patient safety through the reporting of adverse events.

In all respects, the post holder must act within the accordance of the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct, the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social care and the appropriate quality standards for each trial.

This position requires the post holder to be enthusiastic, innovative and motivated with a willingness and ability to adapt to the team’s needs. The post holder must be able work independently on the roles delegated by the principal investigator , but also work well within a team, communicating and coordinating their work effectively in order to help achieve departmental objectives.

• Good degree in an appropriate discipline related to Design Technology (A/C)

• Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (A/C)

• Strong and secure subject knowledge in Design Technology up to GCSE and/or A Level (A/I)

• Evidence of good student examination results (A/I/R)

• Recent and relevant teaching experience (A/I/R)

• Experience of assessment at key stage 3 and 4 (A/I/R) • Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students (A/I)

• Good understanding of curriculum developments in Design Technology (A/I)
