Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you will inspire and engage our diverse student body in scientific exploration. Your role is pivotal in fostering a love for learning, promoting well-being, and supporting students' unique needs.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to individual learning styles.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse abilities and interests.
- Student Support:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students during lessons.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere, addressing behavioural challenges with empathy.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking:
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop personalised learning plans.
- SEN Awareness:
- Understand and respond to the specific needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
- Implement strategies to support their emotional well-being.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings to ensure holistic student development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
- Science Specialism: Strong subject knowledge in science (biology, chemistry, or physics).
- Empathy and Patience: Ability to connect with students and create a safe learning environment.
- Adaptability: Willingness to embrace innovative teaching approaches.
Additional Information:
- SEN Experience: Previous experience in SEN settings is advantageous.
- DBS Check: The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
