Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - North Territory
Contract: 12 Months
About This Role:
You will be providing crucial medical and scientific expertise for a 12-month maternity leave cover. As an MSL, you will play a vital role in understanding disease products while forging valuable partnerships within the medical community and healthcare systems. Your contributions will significantly impact our company's success, both internally and externally, through medical education, scientific exchange, and the gathering of essential medical insights.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish trust and credibility as an MSL partner by engaging in scientific and medical exchanges with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and stakeholders, dedicating approximately 80% of your time to this activity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with HCPs, ensuring alignment with the field medical plan.
- Participate in various activities, including proactive discussions on relevant disease areas, acting as a technical expert on company products, providing non-product education, and responding to inquiries.
- Clearly and effectively present product data to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to Medical Affairs projects, utilizing extensive knowledge of therapeutic areas and the competitive landscape, as required by the medical manager.
- Engage with customers through face-to-face interactions and virtual/digital channels as needed, splitting your time approximately 50%/50%.
- Collaborate effectively with other internal functions such as sales, marketing, and value & access, as required.
- Operate within regulatory frameworks and uphold compliance with company ethics, procedures, and industry standards at all times.
Candidate:
- Highly accomplished individual with significant expertise in key therapeutic areas, particularly within Medical Affairs.
- Demonstrates excellence in Medical Science Liaison (MSL) roles, showcasing skills such as scientific proficiency, excellent communication abilities across various audiences, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare systems.
- Organized and with a proven track record of excellence in developing and executing field medical plans
Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) required; advanced (MSc, PhD) or clinical degree (pharmacy, nursing, or medical) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice in relation to medical affairs and promotional activities.
- Substantial experience and demonstrated scientific expertise in key therapeutic areas (Neurology, Immunology) within Medical Affairs.
- Demonstrated excellence in MSL roles, including strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, as well as a track record of developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts, executing field medical plans, and generating relevant therapy area insights.
- Desirable skills include understanding of drug lifecycle management, UK healthcare systems, local regulatory compliance, leadership/coaching, and project management expertise.
