Your new role
Working in a fast paced logistics & supply chain environment, the Import Export Assistant will support and work alongside the Logistics Manager to successfully manage and control all logistics operations in a timely and cost-effective manner. In this role, you will be monitoring and organising all FOB and CFR shipments and deliveries of imported containers, and you will accurately manage various Excel logs, achieving agreed targets. You will liaise with customers to book in delivery dates & times, and you will assist in raising purchase order (PO) numbers where required. The role will involve checking and approving draft and original import documents for imported cargo and liaising with UK agents to arrange clearances and send documents. The Import Export Assistant will assist and manage product information flow from custom clearance agent, emailing shipping instructions, and delivery instructions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in a similar role, such as Import Clerk, Shipping Assistant, Logistics Assistant, Supply Chain Coordinator, Import Export Controller etc
• Familiarity with incoterms
• Good understanding of relevant import and export documentation
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication skills and confident speaking with customers and suppliers over the phone and emails
