As a Program Manager - Supply Chain Risk in the Procurement Digital Transformation and Operations organization’s Third Party Risk Management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects aimed at ensuring effective governance and oversight of our supply chain risk resiliency program.  This includes developing and implementing strategies, procedures, and policies to ensure business continuity through proactively identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain.

The ideal candidate will be a domain expert in supply chain risk management strategies, have a solid understanding of supply chain processes (including planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics), knowledge of Bill of Materials and their impact on risk management, and an excellent communicator.  Collaborating, building influence, and developing relations across the organization at all levels and with third-party providers is an essential part of this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement supply chain risk management strategies, tools, dashboards, and processes.
• Drive commodity managers, planners, buyers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to identify, assess and mitigate risks and disruptions proactively.
• Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Advanced Analytics teams to build data foundation and define, design, and produce reports and interactive dashboards. 
• Stay up to date with industry trends, systems, and best practices related to supply chain risk management.
• Provide education and training to organization and stakeholders on risk management best practices, procedures, and policies.
• Document and ensure compliance to Procurement policies and procedures.
• Support and provide input for internal and external audits.  Collaborate to remediate findings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Sourcing

• Develop, manage and execute strategies for Capital equipment category
• Conduct RFQ and lead cross functional teams through the selection process of preferred suppliers with effective scoring criteria to critically evaluate supplier proposals in accordance within company policies
• Collaborate with new technology, equipment and tooling stakeholders in engineering/legal to assess, understand, and prioritize business needs to optimize value with WD’s supply base
• Conduct spend/contract/proposal analysis for supply of capital equipment and tools to the leadership team
• Lead negotiations on commercial procurement agreements, including, but not limited to, Master Equipment/Tools Agreements (MEA’s), Statements of Work (SOW’s), Change Orders (CO’s) balancing business deliverables, legal interests and pricing
• Analyze total costs, assist business functions with ROI analysis, price and rate benchmarking and negotiate favorable business terms to leverage Western Digital purchasing power
• Research market intelligence to understand cost drivers and market trends

Category Management

• Develop, refine and implement category strategies and tactics that enable the procurement of assembly & automation equipment/tooling at the highest value benefit to the company
• Cultivate, enhance, and deepen cross functional stakeholder relationships at all levels serving as the subject matter expert on behalf of the procurement organization
• Actively monitor internal/external trends, synthesize and distill the business intelligence into actionable opportunities and pipeline projects that can and will be delivered to Western Digital’s bottom line on an ongoing basis

Supplier Management

• Manage supplier relationships with a focus on supply/contract and cost management
• Lead supplier performance business reviews on a quarterly basis to enhance performance delivery from strategic partners
• Mediate supplier issues and resolve supplier contract disputes as needed
• Develop supplier rationalization entitlements for each category

Contract Management

• Evaluate processes and recommend improvements to standardize lifecycle contract and sourcing processes and systems
• Ensure pricing & deliverables as negotiated are included in the contract; coordinate comparison of proposals and final contract terms
• Act as liaison between legal and the business teams

·        Works closely with regional representatives to develop accurate and timely demand plans.

Supply Planning

·        Together with the Managers of Supply Planning, and within the IBP umbrella ensure an effective monthly Supply process is in place across all sites, identifying and resolving significant supply-demand imbalances over a rolling two year period.   Drives functional process excellence across the business unit

·        Provides summary outputs of the Supply Process at the Integrated Reconciliation and Management Business Reviews Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning meetings.

·        Establishes strategies, key performance metrics, target objectives/guidelines and improvement initiatives to meet supply management objectives, including differentiated offerings by product/customer classification or geography as appropriate.

·        Develops a Global Inventory Strategy Process, including the development of inventory targets by product line.  Ensures the establishment of target inventory levels and mix to achieve management objectives for service levels, backorder incidence/duration and inventory- DIO goals. Identifies and leads efforts to improve inventory velocity and minimize preventable losses due to excess supply and obsolescence.

·        Designs and executes service strategies to drive customer satisfaction in line fill, reduced shipments per order, and on-time arrival of orders.

·        Ensures single point-of-contact in major short-supply issues and prioritizes allocation methodology and shipments according to business need.

·        Effectively directs the supply planning elements for new product introductions, conversions and rationalization efforts.

·         Ultimately responsible to balance service and inventory in the business unit

Logistics

·        Collaborates with the matrixed Global Logistics and Distribution teams on global logistics strategies and key performance metrics aligned with the business strategies for Shipping, storage, receiving and transportation improvement programs, Inventory levels, distribution strategy, Warehouse utilization, etc.  

·        Collaborates a global distribution and transportation strategy, in alignment with manufacturing strategy.  Optimizes network for transportation efficiencies, inventory carrying costs, E/O costs, and customer service levels.

·        Develops and maintains metrics to track performance and business contribution.

·        Provide periodic assessment and communication of  maturity progress on WW IBP Process.

Summary 

Reporting to the Director, US Supply Chain, this Supply Chain Compliance position is responsible for reviewing and approving Procurement/Subcontract documentation for compliance with regulations and policies. • Assist in the development of trend analysis in pricing, supplier performance, Supply Chain personnel compliance metrics and related analyses
