The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Sortie Generation Flight (SGF) Chief, exercising technical and administrative supervision over subordinate employees engaged in ground handling, servicing, inspection, condition evaluation, test and repair of assigned and transient aircraft. Trains reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein.

- Drives buses, tractor trailers and/or other vehicles typically having a GVW of more than 32,000 pounds to include wrecker/recovery vehicles, and one or more electric, LPG, or diesel-powered forklift trucks to facilitate loading and unloading duties. • Coordinate with other agencies within the Department of the Army to advance projects to meet toxic metal reduction goals as defined by the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology).
• Conduct technical planning, organization, and technical assessments, and risk management of new chemical processes and applications to accomplish the necessary repair/overhaul of aircraft/components.
• Apply scientific theory to chemical processes such as electroplating, chemical cleaning, paint stripping, application of coatings, adhesive bonding of metals, and corrosion control that are used in the repair.
